The Monroe College grad wants the $70,000 she spent on tuition because she hasn’t found gainful employment since earning her bachelor’s degree in April, according to a suit filed in Bronx Supreme Court on July 24. The information-technology student blames Monroe’s Office of Career Advancement for not providing her with the leads and career advice it promised.

My cousin forewent school because he said he was spending 50k a year on money he could have used. She forgot the economy is bad? Is she applying herself enough? I doubt it

FASFA doesn’t pay for everything. It pays maybe half of your tuition, the rest your on your own. Make sure you finish school if you plan to take out loans so you can pay it back. And research the job market before you choose your major to see if there will be growth in your area of studies. So many idiots leaving out of college with Mass Communications degrees, and BS degrees and wonder why they can’t find a decent job.
A lot of jobs are being outsourced. Make the career that you are choosing can’t be. Just Research! Research!!
I’m glad she’s suing, a lot about college is a big scam. She knows she ain’t gon win she must have ulterior motives like tryna get attention or something. This could have a big impact though.
On another note, how the hell she complaining bout not having a job when she JUST graduated like three months ago … plus we in a recession?! It took me a whole year to find a real job after I graduated, and we were no where near the recession at that time. N I went to a real university, not some Monroe College bullisht.

I just graduated to in May I mean the economy is horrible but I have managed to have 2 jobs and just was hired by another…. she has to take what she doesn’t want to get eventually what she wants! I have a business degree (management) im sure she can find something with an info. Tech degree…. geesh
She’s right to sue. I think everyone who graduated with a degree and can’t find work relevant to their degree should file a class action lawsuit against every college. Sure it’s expensive to sue, but with a class action lawsuit it would be cheaper.
