SO TO GIVE KIDS IN THE GHETTO CONFIDENCE,YOU TAKE THEM TO ANOTHER GHETTO?

WE’RE ESTABLISHING CONFIDENCE BY SHOWING THEM THEIR GHETTO ISN’T THE WORST?REALLY?

I here what you are saying but, there’s another side of that coin. If you’ve ever did some community work for the less fortunate you would understand it brings out change in you. Makes you want to do better for others, not just looking out for yourself. Just watching this makes me want to figure out how to do something. It’s humbling but at the same time encouraging

I disagree with Piggy Ross. That is definitely not the message I got from it. Truth is that the problems we face here are miniscule when placed on a grand scale. We have FREE EDUCATION up to grade 12. That is A PRIVILEGE that a lot of those kids took for granted (low grades). Taking them to Africa puts that into perspective. It changes the way you perceive your struggle in the Americas and the privileges that many kids take for granted.

I completely agree with Piggy Ross!

Malaak felt that she should help them appreciate what they have… ummm… let’s see…the children are on welfare and reading below grade level with little opportunities for access to professional blacks…

    They should be grateful? Really?

this is wuts wrong with black america right on this website. there are only 3 COMMENTS on this black in america topic and there are 82 COMMENTS on the game bringing jay-z fans on stage and dissing them……SMH.

niggas care more bout wut 50 cent thinks bout rick ross than wut barack obama has to say

  7. Meezy Says:

i have to say that she was basically trying to empower them but taking them out of their environment and show them the struggles of another. people always tend to equate the African continent to be destitute , it is just a different environment with different styles of living. I really like the principal of the private school and what he doing to help change the students and the way they view things. MLT was really inspiring, it was quite gutsy for Mia to give up her job and join the program, i respect that , show how determined she is.

  8. Linda Says:

This will be a wonderful experience for these young people. If you ever have the opportunity to travel to another country, an African country, and see how our brothers and sisters live you will never, ever, feel sorry for yourself. The people love life, their family and their country. They appreciate what they have and they know that education and hard work is the way up. I personally have been humbled by traveling and living in these countries. Go kids…

That was the bigest waste of my time I have done since EVER. No the stae of black america is not what a woman named O’BRIEN, could ever find because SHE would never speak to someone like me without a body guard. That show was a white wash, for white folks to say “We feel your pain”. Please talk about how under Republicans the black race lost jobs by the million, or how black males fill prisons, but once out still have no chance of a real life because once a con always a con, unless you are white and well connected. And those niggers that are desendants of MASSA that hold the tux ball come on you can’t really think you or your boot licking ancestors, show real moxy,(remeber those niggers who passed),lokk at thier complextions!!! That show was a joke.
