When It Comes To The Classic, “Casino,” Who Do You Relate More To, Sam Or Nicky?
I was watching the movie last night and was thinking about the differences between Sam & Nicky and which one I relate to more. Sam was laid back, about his business, followed the rules and tried winning a woman’s heart with money. Nicky was high-tempered, an entrepreneur and went after what he wanted by any means necessary. So who do you relate to more and what lessons you did you take from the movie?
In response to a comment below, I’m talking about the characteristics of the characters not what they did in the movie.

Sam cause Sam stayed alive and in real life Frank Rosenthal died peacefully like last year. who wants to end up like Nicky Santoro(Tony Spilotro) at the end. he made a mess rather than keeping things quiet according to the movie. not in real life. in real life, he did too much dirt in Chicago plus he was blowin up the spot in Vegas.

Sam, Of Course.
Sam kept everything in line and made decisions based on facts and calculation.
Nicky was more emotional and moved on his feelings.

I have not been dumbed down at all! It’s a movie calm down! Everybody who watches it is not tryna be like the characters! Yea they are criminals stuff like this movie & tv shows they put out does help influence things in the streets but it is up to the people watching this stuff to make the right decision! Because they can’t control what come on tv they can eather choose to watch or not to watch! Choose to follow or not to follow! It’s the viewers choice to make a intelligent decision! AND I am very aware of what goes on around me but you wasn’t aware that I knew or knew what I was saying! Tv & all that otha shyt might influence people with a simple mind but you might wanna save all dat shyt for somebody like that because im not 1! Besides it’s just a MOVIE! CALM DOWN! Yea it is a movie thats all about criminals but thats real life, would you rather them not educate people on how criminals operate & create even more victims?!? Films like this educate some in a positive way & in a negative way! It’s not like the film said Go be the best criminal you can be or sum shyt! It’s showing you real life this shyt happens! Bottom line my point was I relate to sam because he was more about making money! Money is something even the people who are aware of whats going on around them wants & need to have! Not cause they wanna be a crooked casino owner like sam was! smh your mind is so focused 1 way you don’t see what the owner of realtalkny.net was tryna say! It’s who can you relate to in ANY WAY basicaly not WHO DO YOU WANNA BE!!!!! What didyou learn from the movie, Not what would you do different to change the outcome if you were one of the characters!! Some people learn good things from it some learn bad! It’s all about the viewers! Most the time people like you think pictures like this is tryna influence people to be the same way! No it’s just showing you the things that take place in real life! If you wanna change what people watch change how people live & pictures like this might stop coming out! come on fam….keep it hundred, I believe in rappers freedom to spit whatever they want, I believe that parents should be responsible for their kids, but I’ve accepted the fact that when negative lyrics/energy are release to the world, it does have an effect on the minds of people, especially blacks/latinos youths.
Whatever point that was trying to be conveyed from the question posted could’ve been made with other combination of characters, from movies, cartoon, musicians etc.
Don’t try and make it seem like it’s a coincidence that this movie was chosen simply because he seen it recently. It’s because he seen it recently, there’s a portion of hip hop heads that love this gangster life style, he’s running a hiphop website, so why not. That’s good business.

Yea things like dat have a affect im aware of all of that! Weather they continue to play it or not you still gonna have people in poverty,people upset at they situation,People who gonna sell drugs & do wrong,they were doin it before this movie even came out! Crime goes back a long way! Before drugs even hit the street drugz just made it even stronger! artist don’t actualy try to be these things! Yea it influences alot but it also expose that life style to people who don’t try to follow it or who want to do something about it! Bottom line you can’t change history! It’s life you can’t hide life from people! You can’t hide history from people! It’s part of being educated! certain things intrest some more then others! I understand the picture shows violence & it may give some the wrong ideas but it also exposes theses ideas to the people who DO NOT FOLLOW!!! Some people recieve different messages from it! Like not living ya life that way or maybee to live ya life that way! It’s all about how the viewers recieve the message & what they understand! It’s life you either gonna learn from it or not! Apply it or not! If there was programs & movies & shows on about how great life is & it’s a walk in the park then somebody goes outside & gets shot wouldn’t you feel like your being lied to! It’s the people that it influences you need to go talk to! Not the people who make post about it or make these movie! They just putting people on to how these things operate in real life! Tryna see people out take on the movie! They not telling the viewers to live the life! The viewers make they own choices! If this is all they surounded by they will either be different or let it consume them & follow! If this is all they see on Tv they will either change the channel or let it influence them & try to be that! At the end of the movie the one who was doing bad(Nicky) Got killed by the people he worked for! Either Dead or in jail is the real outcome in this life style! Death is certain in life anyway but the life style makes the chances of death greater! That part don’t register in some people mind!
