Although there were so many to choose from.. Young Money had the worst performance of the night… SMH at EVERY GIRL with babies on the stage (no more than 12 yo).. the audience wasn’t feeling it, it was a NO GO.. SMH at Birdman wanted to shout out MJ during Always Strapped…

Souljahboy did his thing so did Neyo but Wayne played himself and looked like a fool for performing those records at a Michael Jackson tribute. Drake looked like he didn’t fit in that click which was to his benefit but he’s stiff pause even if he he tore his acl. Ciara sucked but had a good spirit. Keri tried but should stick to songwriting, Jay-Z killed it with the live band and Jamie Foxx off course stole the show

I actually thought that Ciara sounded good, did not like Beyonce’s performance (especially the outfit)… upset @ Joe Jackson’s shameless plug of his new record company on CNN…. seeing Janet all teary eyed made me teary eyed…. Hearing that Chris Brown did not perform because Jay-Z made a stink about it…. Does anyone know if that is true…. A lot of drawn out points in the show…. However how did they have a tribute to the King of Pop without any type of real dance sequence…

the tributes were great imo….Ciara’s sucked tho…but that’s becuz she can’t sing. Ne-Yo performing Lady In My Life was sick…the duet at the end was cool. New Edition reuniting at the beginning WITH Bobby Brown was great. Jamie wit the MJ outfits had me rollin…esp at the open.

The one time the world was watching BET they go and make a fool of the race and of MJ’s legacy. Janet’s speech was touching and Jay killed it but other than that this show was a hot mess. Maxwell was amazing, Tyrese need to give us another CD (please don’t rap on this one), Keri was straight but she looked a little Elvis to me (I wish she cut her ending) and why was Beyonce dressed for her Quiceanera?? The end of the show was really good.. Janet coming out to speak put things in persepective and then to have Ne-Yo and Jaime Foxx sing (you know they were tearing up)… you could feel the emotion in their voices. My only problem with the show was that it was only put together too quick but they tried. I’m not gonna bad mouth BET because at the end of the day, they were the station that represented for black ppl when the others were hating.

Yeah BET could’ve did better on MJ — They could had his glove come down on stage for a silent moment or somethin, or had the artists sign a giant glove, i dunno the whole thing was akward too many were looking for the unqiue thing to say rather than just what was on their minds i guess some folks thought that this was gonna bear into a tradition when the reality of actually carrying that may have been too much to hold but i can’t hate he fam to the community tho they didn’t do him wrong they just didn’t keep the seperation between show and ceremony down

That show was horrible and BET should be ashamed of putting M Jackon’s name in association with such wack performances. I was not impressed with anyone, Jay-Z, O’jays, BBD, Neyo was OK. Everyone wanted Beyonce to do something up beat, but I think her song was a boring…….appropriate and her vocals are perfect, but people wanted some M. Jackson and booty shaking.

My few cents is that it had nothing to do w/ Beyonce’s song choice (I thought it was great) Ave Maria was quite suitable & EVERYTHING to do with her choice of attire. Now why would you presume it’s OK, to perform a religious song in dedication of a fallen great w/ close to NOTHING on – who co-signed on that (not Mommy or Daddy?)??!! Come on folks, if this is how we want to world to judge us….I believe no one’s opinion was changed with last night’s show, just downgraded a bit more. Lil Wayne & his posse certainly deserved a Back Handed Slap, but after being put in hand-cuffs. Talk about LACK OF RESPECT & COMMON SENSE w/ that crap of a performance. That Young Money performance was fucking ridiculous–inappropriate and creepy with a bunch of underaged girls singing a song w/ the lyrics “I wish I could fuck every girl in the world” That’s just wrong, weird and creepy as hell. Wheelchair Jimmy needed that damn wheelchair back last night. Beyonce’s performances made no sense to me. Does no one realize that “Angel” is about drug abuse, it’s not sweet, at all.
And I applaud Trey Songz, Tyrese and Johnny–they were one of the few hi-lites of the show. I thought Trey was incredible, and he looked sooo sexy. And Maxwell’s performance was beautifle. He sound great last night.
Why the hell would Ciara not dance? Who told her she could get out there, mediocre voice and all, and sing a song in honor of MJ? That was a bad idea. She and Chris should gotten together and did a dance number–that would have been big–and would have made a lot more sense than some of the other tributes.

worst awards show to date i only watched it because i thought appropriate ppl wouldve been there to tribute MJ. No chris brown usher or ginuwine? I mean what the fuck they were the only ones that had there moves down pact. As someone who grew up (from Day One) listening to te Jackson 5 and subsequently, Michael Jackson as a solo at, let me say this: a lot of these young people don’t realize how important Soul Train was to black artists at a time when it was not easy getting television time. Soul Train was a great show and Don Cornelius was the host of that show.
First, I felt that Mr. Cornelius should have been given a microphone appropirate for his height so that he did not have to bend over when speaking. Second, while he have have talked too long (which, I do not think he did), this man is a legend in terms of black music for well over 40 years. I watched Soul Train every Saturday! It was a great venue.
The young people need to show respect to people who fought to maintain a venue and public space for black entertainers. This was long before MTV and BET and other entertainment television stations.
Don Corneilus was also well dressed and elegant. This is something that these thugs need to understand. Maxwell also had on a beautiful suit and shirt.
The elegance has been taken out of show business–and, at the end, of the day, entertainers need to understand this.
Other observations:
Beyonce, for example, is still learning. Her dress was inappropriate for the venue. That swinsuit outfit.
Ving Rhames needs help. Fast.
Drake, Lil Wayne, and others should be facing child pornography charges. (Since there are no real standards left in the rap game, how was Wayne to know that this rap he was performing was out of place? Insanity has becom the norm.)
Alicia Keyes was the best dressed woman there, although I think she is a little heavy on the makeup and false eyelashes. She is a natural beauty and really does not need any of that.
And those Mary Mary sisters are about to bust out of that skirt and leather pants.
