I think Jay would like to bring back the requirement of ACTUAL SKILL.
When we made the transition from 8O’s Hip-Hop to 9O’s Hip-Hop it was a new generation but the lyrical skill was still there. They came up battling and proved their skill and made quality music and classics.
Now what do we have?? This guy and many others like him?? Yes it’s a new generation but the quality, the lyrics, and the clever concepts are gone and replaced with sad gimmicks like dances, so-called swag, and auto-tune which anyone with a voice box could sound good on unlike the time when the previous generations came into play.

I respect Jay-Z to the utmost despite maybe calling some truths to light that many people fail to acknowledge. And I agree that autotune needs to go and that he finally realizes it and stepped up to say so. But I just wish that the other people who declared this sentiment earlier (1-3 years ago) on the streets would have been credited for DECLARING the END of autotune before Jay-Z got all the credit. There have been many rappers/singers/supporters who cried for the end of autotune, but (again) it took Jay-Z for knuckleheads to listen I guess.
