i think that there is a possibility of having success with hardcore rap. there was a time in the nineties when it was all about melodies and then wu-tang came and took over. most of eminem’s album is not pop music, either. althoug i did not like “crack a bottle”, i liked the fact that it was the first top 10 song with a “real” hip hop beat in years. i definitely believe that there is an audience for rap albums. i am one of them. i’ve got statik selektah in my ipod as well as i have got 50 cent on it.
