2nd off, there are other artist that are putting out Auto-Tune records beside the top 5 you named. You also said a couple names of other artist that were doing them, so you’re contradicting yourself. Plus a lot of aspiring artist are seeing that all the weak ass records on the radio and winning awards are Auto-Tune songs, so they decide to go that route.

These guys don’t even get it. He’s not talking simply about Auto-Tune. Trends becoming gimmicks, thats the point of D.O.A. He talked about Hipsters he talked about Rappers, he wants to bring originality back to Hip-Hop, isn’t that what everyone wants ?
These guys are getting way too sensitive, just because its called “Death of Auto-Tune”, and they use Auto-Tune (maybe not as successfully as Kanye or Lil Wayne), they are getting offended. If the song was called “Death of Tight Pants” I’m sure they wouldn’t be offended. Jay-Z used a provocative title so that people would listen.
Does Auto-Tune really need to finish ? No, but we need to start bringing back “Rappers” to Rap. And who cares if Jay-Z “singled” you out, prove him wrong, show him that Auto-Tune has a place in Hip-Hop. But if it dies, then let it die, don’t blame it on Jay-Z.

i don’t see it like Jay’s tryin to tell the fans to stop listenin to a certain type o music, or tryin to kill of autotuning. it’s more like he’s tryin to tune the younger generation into the brand of hip-hop that birthed him. today’s sound is jus too trendy, and that’s the problem. the kids are more concerned with what’s “cool” than what’s relevant.

I’m old school hip hop and Jay-Z feels he’s the godfather of rap however true hip hop heads don’t listen to him. You have a young industry that listen to and look up to him however he is no longer relevant in hip hop it’s the media that makes him relevant. To stoop low to call out a form of music from guys u know and the fans fine entertaining is a desperate ploy to stay relevant. Where was Jay when Pac was getting at him directly and thru media….nowhere. Jay-Z is a coward and his fans are mainly crossover mainstream. Not racist but there’s something awkward when young white girls are singing your songs word for word unless the money is the driving force. As far as lyricism go’s Jay never made it off reasonal doubt. CHURCH!
