Seems u don’t realize there’s no money in labels these days, unless u a platinum artist. They just hold u in and never release any of ur shit. At least, when u independent, u can put up shows and keep most of the money, do internet sales, etc. That’s why Joel Ortiz left aftermath, and even Jigga’s going independent.

Meth came from the Wu era, and participated in classic albums…..Joe Budden has no certified classic albums….maybe mixtapes. Secondly, Joe Budden should feel he is better then Meth as an MC, but there was no reason to come at Meth out of all 64 rappers and not expect him as an OG to get tight…and lastly, Joe Budden needs to focus on making hits,b/c meth and red have sold records only coming behind Eminem these last 2 weeks, which any other rapper would have done

I respect Joe Budden’s opinion, but there is a time to show a little humility (maybe “class” is a better word). Even if you know that you are better than someone (i.e. Kobe better than Lebron) just let your actions show it. Let the bloggers, commenters, and hip hop loyalist debate about it. Just keep putting out good music, that’s all. It’s not your job to call out other rappers, your job is to rap. If you wanted to critique other rappers become a journalist. That’s why I like Joell Ortiz because he’ll never make a statement like that on camera. He probably feel’s that he’s better than any one rapper on the list, but he will never call out any one rapper publicly – young or old, legend or newbie.

well 1st and 4most i became a joe budden fan by accident.i heard the 6 minutes of death freestyle with him,stack bundles and jae mills and went to get the mixtape in which the song appeared on joe’s mixtape and stacks the bootlegger had both i wind up gettin joe’s because his songs had better titles lol and been a fan ever since.
2ndly for everybody who has they mind made up b4 even doing thier homework keep it real method only relevant today due to the fact that he acts.i doubt 10 people can name every album he dropped.he aint with that diss track shit because he know he aint got it anymore.he the only rapper biggie felt threatend by on the same track with so yeah he get his props but look at the message and not the messenger joe said today he raps better than method man either battle,do a cypher or shut up.

Honestly, I dont have a problem with what joe budden said. I’m a fan of all of those mentioned and have all their albums/mixtapes. Method Man was hot in the Wu-Tang days but his solo projects were either shelved, didn’t get a push, or he didnt deliver after judgement day. Same with Busta but not Redman as far as delivering. Joe has is entitled to his opinion but since rap battling came to be, rappers are way too sensitive when they hear someone is challenging him.
Now I can understand how some artist dont respond to those opposing them, but to show and prove yourself its only fair even when you have a following and you really need to prove it to them. Blackout 2 is ok and B.O.M.B was better than the Big Bang, but overall they’re not as hot as they were years ago. They’ve paved a way for some rappers to shine but it seems wack that you would go on the radio and talk your shit instead manning up to accept the challenge. Joe just wants to battle to prove a point while meth, red, and now busta are making subliminal threats. I would like to see it and if joe gets shut down then that should tell the fans who’s better. Other than that its all music and competitiveness. If you dont have that then you dont have Hip-Hop.
Those who were in that position before should know what it was like and how to act on it but egos and money have change our Hip-Hop heroes. Hell if they want the music to change then they have to band together in order to bring it back. That’s not going to actually happen because veterans dont want to give up the mic and younger artist have no direction and are more disrespectful. Hopefully the outcome comes out to a cypher or a battle and nothing more.

I feel bad for Joey man lol. He loves to rap. He loves his craft but he’s not getting his shine. I think he’s at the brink. Joe can really write. He’s nice but not everyone can be on top.
