80’s rap was wack although they were the poineers,,,,not big on meth and red neighter but they got a couple hits in the stash,,and busta is and always was garbage..just keepin it real cus alot of yall in denial…..i fux with that 90’s early 2000 hip hop tho…it died aorund 2006 cus all the new cats aint 2 good and the old dogs fell off like 50, em,jay-z dont wanna drop, dre not droppin, big, pac, big l, and pun died, dmx called it quits, mobb deep fell off, cnn fell off, and kiss still hot just not like he once was,,,,wtf!!!!! thank god for joe budden, fabolous & cassidy cus they doin they part real talk…
This is what I was saying on the “sha money” post. I think late 90’s early 2000’s rap was a fuccin force that was lterally crushing the shit out of all other genres of muzik. Today the rap industry is no different than the pop indusrty
Man i’m proud to be a 80’s baby. I lived through the 90’s era where you actually had to have “TALENT!!!!”…Back in the 90’s-early 2000’s you had to be ready to spit and cypher with the other talented cats and veterans on the label before they signed you. For example. When the ruff ryders were running hip hop along with the roc and def jam; Dmx and swizz would make unsigned rookie artists spit in a cypher with the lox,eve,drag-on, and their other artists to show how hungry you are and to test your talents and that was your final test minus bringing a mixtape to the office. If you couldn’t last they wouldn’t sign you. Now days all you need is a trashy hook, a garbage 16 bars, and whack adlibs that’s catchy and labels would sign you right off the rip. Its crazy.
hahahah i wonder what Mef was staring at. looks like he was checkin’ out some booty. It’s alright to check out even when you married homie. AYO… AYO!!! lol
i’m down to check out the next 48 hours with Mef and Red. If they ain’t blazing one up in the next 48 hours. It will be a disappointment.

THey sound like old niggas to me. Its like when ya pops tell you about Dr. J and Bill Russell and shit. Even if its true dont hate on the young niggas like LeBron and Dwight Howard lol.
In the 90’s they didnt have to put out quality music either. It was no leaks a week or 2 before your album dropped. So its plenty of fans who bought albums with 17 songs on it but only 5 of em were hot and you wasted that hot $12 bucks.
Also it was no ring tone money or itunes and all that. Marketing was more expensive before myspace and all the other social networks created a platform for these “90’s artist” to promote there shit. Its pros and cons to everything they just sound like sour grapes.
Tell you one thing though, Hip – Hop Jams today compared to the 90´s is nothing, the vibe was crazy.
@Pounce you are right alot of shit came out 2 in the 90´s and that is why I recognize modern Hip Hop to be as good as in the 90´s and better than the 80´s and as I said I am from that era so I know what I am talking about, you cant front on me.
The truth is that it was not better before, but it is the same story everytime, people get older and they think it was better in the old days, but not me, I still love Hip – Hop .
