co sign 187! people just look at Kobe offensively and base that as he’s the best. He may be the best or one of the best scorers in the league…but as far as MJ comparison, LBJ is the closest.Period.

Just look at his numbers. MJ was a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better FG shooter…and defender. hands down..but LBJ is not far for best all around.

Im a Kobe and Lebron fan but lets keep it real.

Kobe: 02-03 numbers – 30.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists
05-06 numbers – 35.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists
06-07 numbers – 31.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists
07-08 numbers – 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists ( MVP )

Remember, Kobe did score 81 points in a game and had 60+ point games without even playing in the fourth quarter. Kobe should have around 2-3 maybe 4 MVPs. Lebron is good but he will never be a better shooter and scorer than Kobe.

lebron deserved it this year he really helped the cavs become a legit contender not just in the east, but in the whole NBA. if it was going on personal play i would have to go with d-wade he had the best personal year to me, but the heat are sittin at home right now after gettin blown out by the hawks lol. lebron made his whole team better and provided big numbers while doin it. i still think kobe is a better player not all around like assists, and rebounds, but i think as an complete player kobe is better and here is why. he has more of a killer instinct then LBJ, he is a better pure shooter, he is more finesse to the basket, can finish with both hands, has a killer fadeaway, and can make his whole team play at a high rate defensively. but nonetheless big up to KING JAMES he deserved MVP…

its kinda tuff….Kobe has this switch that he turns on when its time to go win a game and he’s more consistent at doing that…and he’s a better shooter. But I think it levels out cuz even with LBJ getting MVP, he wont win the championship…Kobe has the better chances at it cuz Lakers have more depth. But watch out for the MAGIC…they proved they could win a game without theyre star player in the playoffs…dont see Lakers winning without Kobe nor Cavs winning without Lebron.

Any star player could do those numbers averaging 32 shots per game and 3 assist a game. Doesn’t anyone notice how kobe switch his game this year, and is dropping less points and more rebounds and assist (trying to play lebron’s game) But can’t drop as many points as LEBRON PLAYING HIS GAME.

Lebron just muscles to the basket about 75 peercent of the game, and guess what happens, they call a foul. most of his points come from dunks. and his 3-point shooting is below average.

D-Wade didn’t loose in the NBA Finals did he. he had Shaq to, but he willed that team to a championship.

Lebron got to the NBA Finals & got spanked, did they even win a game in that serious, i really don’t remember.

Kobe is not excluded, he lost 2 Finals, but did put in the effort.

IF I HAD A TEAM, KOBE WOULD BE MY PLAYER. HE GOT THAT TURN AROUND SIMILAR TO YOU KNOW WHO THAT CAN’T BE STOPPED, HE SHOOTS 3′S BETTER & IS MORE CEREBRAL THAN JAMES. THE DEFENSE HE PLAYS IS CRAZY. AND LIKE WE SAW IN THE UTAH SERIES, HE CAN GET HIS SHOT GOIN ANYTIME HE WANTS.

YOU CAN BE BIG & ALL THAT, BUT YOU GOTA HAVE THE NBA MIND AS WELL, HE WON’T BE ABLE TO MUSCLE PLAYERS FOREVER.

Hell, i would let him shoot 32 times with them numbers. U talking about Kobe is trying to play “Lebron game”. If thats the case, did u notice how Kobe swept the season series against Lebron playing “LEBRON GAME”? And about Kobe scoring, Kobe scoring has drop because he has better players not because he is playing LEBRON GAME. Lebron average 30 points a game last year playing his own game. Now, he average 28.4 this year playing his own game. So his scoring went down because his teammates are better and he now has a “Go To Man” in Mo Williams. Like i said, I’m a fan of both of these dudes. By the way, The truth is that Kobe should have more than 1 mvp, but the NBA gave Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki MVPs before Kobe because of that rape charge. Kobe numbers was better than theirs.

your reasoning about the lakers having these other players is the reason that lebron deserves the MVP. who does LBJ really have on his team???… kobe is good, great even, and so is D-Wade for that matter. but really when in boils down to Most Valuable Player, the question is who can go on ANY team and make them especially better. Lebron and Kobe both can play a 2 or 3 if necessary. LBJ can play the 4 better and Kobe can play the 1. Why do you think that the big man is always drafted first. If I had to put one player on my team 1st, I would want LBJ and let someone else snatch up Kobe. As far as 1 and 2’s come, the league has a million of them. I can find another scorer, and because of LBJ’s presence, he’ll get open looks!!! D-Wade had a phenomenal season too. it’s just too bad it was the same year that LBJ did too. well deserved MVP title in my opinion. i also think that’s why kobe got it last year. the celtics had KG but KG also had Ray Allen and Paul Pierce on the squad. so really it was between chris paul and kobe and of course kobe got last year’s MVP.

You 2 above just gave me kobe’s best year in 2006 35 5 and 5..or whatever. I think is crazy that people just fall in love with MJ so much that they itch to find the next best thing that emulates him. lol…is ridiculous. Just because Kobe copies MJs game doesn’t’ make him MJ.

Kobe’s best year which you guys both brought up doesn’t even match MJ’s worst years as a bull (which is sad). When I say 30+, 6+ and 6+ is not just giving you numbers – those numbers are incredibly hard to obtain. Let me tell you why: In baseball you have the 40/40 club right? Well think of 30+, 6+ and 6+ as the same thing. Only a handful of players (MJ, Lebron and Oscar Robertson) no really only those 3 have ever in the history of the game touch those numbers. Look it up. On top of that MJ shot over 50% when he did it. Which is totally ludicrous if you ask me.

Kobe is nothing but a scorer. He can score and walk like mike, chew gum like mike, stick is tongue out like mike but my realtalkny.net friends he is not mike. So let’s knock it off. When I say Lebron can compare to mike I don’tmean as far as finesse, style and drive – I’m talking solely from a numbers stand point. Of Course then you have the intangibles. The drive the will the competitiveness.

Kobe is the type of player that he’d rather score 80and lose, where MJ will score 10 and win. Not gonna lie, Kobe can go off – honestly he hasn’t done anything for me to put him in the league of MJ. He got spanked in the finals by a struggling Boston team who struggles to get there – they were fatigued. MJ would of never allowed that to happen, ask Magic, Drexler, Barkley, Payton, Stockton and Malone. You don’t have to believe me ask them.

Although Kobe is a better shooter, Lebron is a better all around player. Just look at his numbers. Just look that’s it. you don’t have to believe me.

It took Kobe to get Gasol (who for those of us that don’t know was a franchise player in Memphis) – Kobe doesn’t really need to score 30 they can win when he scores 20-25. In reality he does it cause he can. Defensively he’s average. Trust me he’s not tenacious. He’s not going to shut Dwyane Wade down, if the assignment was given to him, nor Lebron if it were as well. MJ will shut the best player on your team, he wants the task. That’s the difference. MJ will shatter your dreams. Remember in 1993 when Barkley said “we are going to win the chip”…that was his year..he even won the MVP that year…NOPE! MJ said you’re not winning while I’m playing in the finals. In 1997 when malone won, Utah was supposed to win it…as much as I love MJ, I really thought it was Utahs year – MJ just didn’t want it to happen.

Kobe is a great player, I admit it. But my friends he’s no MJ. Lebron great player, talented as fuck, but he’s not MJ. MJ was one of a kind. The comparisons are ridiculous, neither of these players have accomplished what MJ has accomplished in just 13 years in the league. Remember this is Kobe’s 13th season. Think back at MJs 13th season. He already had a number of scoring titles (7 straight) 4 MVPS or so maybe even 5 not sure, defensive player of the year, broke the 3K scoring in one single season, 6 rings….btw the 3,000 in a single season Wilt Chamberlain is the only one holding that multiple times. Kobe’s best season, when avging 35ppg when he had 81 pts didn’t break that – so please do the math.

Mo Williams is an all-star. Big Ilgauskus is a perennial all-star. D.West is a good player. Joe Smith #1 overall pick. Wally Szczerbiak, Varejao , Ben Wallace. Y’all acting like Lebron just went down to on the block and picked up 4 niggaz and won 65 games. He has solid players around him and they play in the soft ass east where it was only 2 other good teams this year. Until Lebron gets that ring (Kobe has 3) he will just be a good player. This was his season and he played like a beast, but Kobe has been on cruise control all year. He won his MVP last season and he seen it got him nothing. Kobe has been focused on June since June. He bust Lebron’s ass twice this year just to let the youngin’ know that he still is the best! Kobe will win back 2 back this year and next year, so Lebron can keep winnin his MVP’s and Kobe will keep winning them rings!

Lebron deserved it though but it wasn’t as much of a run away as people make it seem! Wade put in a lotta work jus didn’t have the stability that james and lebron had… so many 1st yr players and new additions to the team…

but let me add… the MVP is nice but the FINALS MVP and a nother ring is better!!! Lets see what happenes if both make it to the finals!!!
