Stop The Madness: Jay-Z Is Paid 750k To Perform And Concert Organizers Lose $917k
The first concert in Arizona Stadium since 1977 lost nearly $1 million. The Last Smash Platinum Bash, which featured Jay-Z and Kelly Clarkson, ended up $917,000 in the red. The concert cost $1.42 million, and ticket and merchandise sales brought in only $503,502, according to student organizers. “Nobody predicted the economy would be the way it is now last May,” he said. The contract for Jay-Z, who was paid $750,000, was signed March 24.

university of arizona took the L because college campus tours are supposed to be filled with has-beens or up-and-comers… no one you would ever imagine paying 750,000 to perform, when kids are barely making tuition!!!! to hell with what everybody thinks of jay-z, they still paid dude 3/4 of a milli….

LMAOOO @ that pic and what tha fuck was those people thinking down in Tucson. First of all, the only reason they even bothered trying to book Jay was because of the Show he had in Phoenix about a year ago during his Heart of the City Tour.. <<—Which i was there, and it was a good ass show..
Second of all, did it ever occur to them that maybe possibly they would have to put someone else on that concert bill other than Kelly Clarkston.

# 17 the demand for Jay-Z is not high anymore are u serious do u know he sold out in cities like LA, Chicago, and NY in seconds just a lil over a year ago
And plus did you read the reviews for the show the show was amazing Jay did an amazing job, face it Jay will sell more tickets for his shows more so than any hip hop act. Thats why the Heart of the City tour which only toured in the US made more bank than the Glow in Dark tour. Jay may not sell as many albums but ppl love to see this man perform live.
And to #16 are u serious thats all a Jay-Z show consist of this man has a live band what he suppose to have back up dancer there isn’t to man hip hop acts who puts on a show like he does
