Jerry West Says Lebron James Has Passed Kobe Bryant As A Player

Lebron is close to Kobe no doubt. In a bout 3 years Lebron will certainly pass Kobe as the best player on the planet. Right now in 2009 Lebron has not reached his peak. He just started to play aggressive defensive which he was taught by Kobe this summer at the Olympics. Kobe has dropped MVP numbers consistently for 6 to 8 years in a row. Give Lebron a chance to show that he can play at this high of a level consistently. And for everybody that thinks Kobe is a MJ swagger jacker. Dont forget Kobe actually played against Jordan. Kobe had to guard him. Jordan is the best player every and the only way to be better than the best is to be like the best. Some of you need to understand the game of basketball. I didn’t know why the mentioned Kobe’s name and compared him to Jordan. Jordan was a COMPLETE bball player. He did every facet of the game better then anyone.
It was evident in the series vs the Rockets. Kobe took outside shots because he has 2 things 1. perimeter shooter and slasher. Kobe let Battier dictate his game. If Jordan was playing if he was missing outside shots he would get in the game by going in the post! Kobe has NO post up game.

Kobe is the man. Once Kobe retires, Lebron will have his shine. But you can’t say Lebron is better than Kobe until he gets 4 rings and you really can’t even compared their games because they are totally different. I disagree with this statement. The comparison between Kobe and LeBron is the same comparison made in hip-hop today. People compare Lil’ Wayne to Jay-Z and then they always bring up how Jay wants to be like Biggie. Well in basketball, people compare LeBron, the younger guy, to the veteran, Kobe, when there really is no comparison. LeBron is 24 and Kobe is 30. Lil’ Wayne is 26 and Jay-Z is 39. The time and the amount of success is greatly different. The hope to be like a Biggie or, in this case, a Jordan is always gonna be there. But lets break it down to the two individuals. It is true that LeBron is doing greater things than Kobe at his age but you have to consider what Kobe had at LeBron’s age. Kobe had an established all-star and legend on his team(Shaq) and his responsibility wasn’t responsibility at all. The Lakers, in the past, had Shaq, Eddie Jones, Nick Van Exel, and many other good players. They were a playoff team before Kobe so he didn’t have the opportunity that Lebron had/has. The same with Jordan. Jordan didn’t have established all-stars when he was younger. Pippen came later. So of course his numbers were oustanding. If you didn’t notice, there was a point when Jordan average 37 and then when Pippen came that number dropped. Lebron currently has nothing so of course his numbers are great.
