OMG mellie mel was rapping in the late 70’s. rap wasnt even that advanced yet. by that account all rappers sucked then, and you mean to tell me that if one of those rappers (mellie) were born later, around buddens age, that they wouldnt also have a head start to take things to the next level.
if buddens was rapping back then his lyrics would’ve sounded similar to those. no one started taking lyricism to the next level until rakim and kool g came along.
might as well tell those classical music geniuses that they suck because there is no bass beat to bang out in the whip

I don’t know all the dudes you mentioned (I know of them but not their music). What I do know is this: Joe Budden is the realest artist I have ever had the privilege to listen to. No other artist I know of puts their life into their music as he does. Spits as sick as he does while not losing my attention (other rappers spit as sick but can’t stop talking about dumb shit.. “I got guns”.. “I got drugs”… “I got cars… I fuck bitches…” etc.. shit gets tiring).

Joe Budden might never go down in the history of rap as a known artist. But all someone has to do is sit down and listen to 5 or 10 of his tracks and you will emmediately agree that U are listening to something else beyond what you are used to nowadays.

To “Back Out” man listen. While many of the artists on the list are there due to their Hip-Hop the true focus of the argument is who can Rap/Battle/MC better. And unfortnately for them Hip-Hop does not equal Rap/Battle/MC.

Just cuz U a nice Hip-Hop artist and have reached critical acclaim doesnt mean a dude like Jin won’t come around and hand you your ass.

Many of you say that “oh I never mentioned comercial success”.. ok point taken. However U did mention hip-hop. U left that open to interpretation.

I interpreted as: Hip-Hop: The commercialization of Rap.

Would any of you like to argue the commercial state of hip-hop? before you answer I would like for you to do one thing. Realize that hip-hop is extremely commercial in it’s current state.

So much so that the majority of current hip-hop heads are blind. “Well why do you say that Ysleiro?” My dude why the hell is Bow Wow on this list at all. There is your answer.

Ysleiro wins the arguement because he agrees joe budden is a better lyracist……ur goin off about method man or melle mel having a bigger name they’re legends omg and bla bla bla….take all the record sales and classic hits away and wat do u have?? joe is at another level he just came out in the wrong decade,,,his last single is called Exxxes download that tell me that wouldnt be a classic in the mid 90’s…real hip hop is underappreciated now u gotta come with a dance or and R&B singer on the hook but that dont neccessarily make u a good rapper..think about it
