hip hop is pitiful these days, you don’t even have to be talented to get a record deal now days, just loop a hook with a fast beat and the labels will sign you overnight. Back in the 90’s you actually had to have skills and actually be lyrical but now they are giving record contracts out to garbage rappers like ihop pancakes. Also if you are extremely lyrical and talented, you are not going to sale records because shit like lollipop, birdwalk, and stanky leg is the only thing on the radio and it’s sad. That’s why i only listen to emcees that have been in the game for a minute….jay-z, lox, nas, beanie sigel, cam’ron, talib kweli,mos def etc…..
