Malawi Court Rejects Madonna Adoption Request
This is like winning the lotto and having it taken away. Why are people mad for Madonna adopting these children in in difficult environments?

Madonna aint doing this for publicity, she wanted to take care of this child. So thx to the idiots that told her no, the child is stuck living in that horrible environment.

I understand both sides. The problem with Madonna is that she’s choosing to adopt from the same country as before where she had the same problems and issues. If she wants to really help a child by adopting them into a better environment then she should consider another country like Angelina Jolie.

Personally i’m glad they rejected her adoption request… I question whether Hollywood seriously considers all factors when they are considering adopting these under-privileged kids or like #6 and #10 say it is a fashion trend/ accessory. Considering the way they blow through everything else with an apparent reckless disregard- i’m inclined to say the latter… PLUS, WHY GO ALL THE WAY OVERSEAS TO ADOPT KIDS, WHEN THERE ARE MILLIONS IN THIS COUNTRY THAT NEED HELP/SUPPORT? That has never made sense to me. And for the people complaining in this blog… when’s the last time any of you volunteered @ a community based program that gives back for any reason?…… Giving back to the community is more then giving your local bum money to buy booze… But that’s just my 2 cents- I’ve been known to be wrong before….

Most people regular people in America and Europe who adopt go to Africa Asia or latin America to adopt. It has always been like that, so it’s not something that only these celebs are doing.

@ #14 & #16 when’s the last time you saw someone from Europe, Africa, or the Middle East adopt an American child… And what’s the criteria for who’s need is more severe? If you walked outside tomorrow and someone was at your mailbox starving would you help feed him or would you wait until you saw the commercial for “Feed the Children” and send your money across seas to some Somalian kid? Don’t be ignorant, take care of home first… & #16 talking about “most regular people… who adopt” shut that shit up! I’m adopted bitch! And my foster parents sure as hell didn’t pick me up from the coast of Zimbabwe… they found my butt in VA, in social services, @ a group home for bad kids, like “most regular people” in America do. Adopting a child should be about one thing- helping someone. You shouldn’t need to pick over the kid like it’s a LV purse…

SMH…. @ WTF- if you don’t know what you’re talking about just say so, i’d rather you do that than speak on a matter that you’re clearly ignorant on. Do a google search on underage poverty/ homeless in the U.S. and them tell me one good reason for any American citizen to adopt children from a foreign country when the rates of poverty and homeless among American youth are so high….. just give me ONE GOOD REASON.

Malawi adoption agency denied Madonna the right to adopt the little girl because she did not meet the requirement of staying in the country for at least 11 months. I agree with the agency denying Madonna the right. Madonna never truly explained why she has such a fondness for Malawi, and thus it makes me think that her others like Angelina Jolie only do it because it’s cool, and it makes them seem like great worldly humanitarians.
When you adopt a child from another country you have to take in to consideration several things. Many of you argue that the child would have had a better life, and because Madonna was denied, the child no longer will have a better life, well think of this…if the child was adopted, who was going to teach that child their culture, heritage…probably NO ONE so the child would have lost a great part of their identity.
Also, what about the children here in America?!!! Let me see Madonna adopt an african-AMERICAN child! She has no interests in Black children in America because the exotic /worldly appeal is not there! If Madonna and others are sooooo interested in improving the lives of orphaned africans, invest in the country, sponsor more orphanages, etc. and dont put all ur energy in adopting ONE child like it’s gonna save an entire country!
