Like every other story, there are two sides to this phenomenon. I concede that SOME elements within the Jamaica Constabulary Force (Police), Island Special Constabulary Force (Police) and the Jamaica Defence Force (Army) are guilty of having engaged in extra-judicial killings and other abusive treatment of a certain socio-economic strata of the Jamaican society.
While I do not condone vigilantism, I must hasten to point out that criminal elements offer the security forces "NO QUARTER"; and as such, on occasion, the lawmen genuinely do have to engage with hostile combatants.
I am deliberate in using military war-time terminology, because what is currently unfolding in Jamaica is a defacto Civil War. An unofficial war between the security forces, the violent criminal gangs and marauding gunmen. This unofficial war has been raging for the better part of five decades, its nothing new.
Disappointingly, the documentary clips I have seen have not mentioned anything about the number of security forces members who have been cut down at the hands of lawless terrorists, yes terrorists! When the criminals go into communities and 'command' law abiding citizens to vacate their homes at a moment's notice, never to return; who but the security forces have to be called upon to remove these terrorists.
Don't get me twisted, I was born and raised in the "Garrison" as we like to refer to our "Violent, Inner City Communities". Where I am from is so "Hard", Police only come here to collect bodies long after the gunmen's very high powered arsenal have gone silent.
Those youngsters in the Inner City who desperately need and want to be uplifted; should be afforded all the opportunities to make a meaningful and unhindered contribution to their society. But there are too many destructive elements both in and out of the inner city who do not wish anything positive coming out of the ghetto.
I still submit that there is some amount of cleaning up to be done in the Security forces; but those thugs the security forces battle daily are for the better part, non-reformable and stringent and forceful measures have to be metered out to them.

Wow that's kinda bugged out. When I think of Police corruption, i usually think of racist white cops treating blacks and hispanics unjustly. it's crazy to see the other side of it, the side that isn't even about color but moreso about power and wealth. It's definitely a shame to see so much suffering and wickedness happening like this inside as well as outside the united states.

And it's crazy how i'm the only comment on this. if it was a new episode of pimpin curly ppl would be all over it SMH
