“This is my last album because for me, there’s no more that needs to be done on the music side, I’ve done everything. The scary thing is I’m 22 years old and I’m young. I’m still a baby, so it’s kinda like on the music side, I’ve been doing it since five. That’s 17 years of non-stop music, music, music. There’s nothing more to accomplish that I haven’t seen yet. I feel like now it’s time to endure a new challenge, close the chapter on the Bow Wow legacy. As far as albums, I’m good. Seven albums at 22, that’s crazy.”

Bow Wow says that, “New Jack City Part 2,” will be his last album and he will now focus on his acting career. He shares his outlook on record sales and what inspires him to make music. Bow Wow goes on to talk about his acting career and the infamous sex scene on, “Entourage.”

I am 22 years old (same as Bow Wow) and I just graduated college with my Bachelor’s degree in January and going to law school in the Fall. To see this young man being able to retire at age 22 is a significant accomplishment. He dropped 7 albums and they all were either Gold or multi-platinum albums. I always had great respect for Bow Wow because he was always a young man doing for himself. I always see other young men hating on Bow Wow but the hate is simply because they are jealous of his accomplishments. Most of these dudes hating because ain’t nobody knocking at their door asking to sign them to a record label. They are saying Bow Wow is wack but he has that deal that you were looking for. So I guess wack knows wack. He is where you wanna be. I love to seeing young people going places and at 22 years old Bow Wow should be a role model for most of us. He should serve as motivation for us and letting people know that it’s time to get your grind. When you work hard and you have enjoy your success. Congratulations Bow Wow on all your accomplishments and I wish you continued success.

Everyone talking about this flip-flopping is wrong. Artists are flopping now-a-days because everything is digital nobody buys CD’s anymore and that was the main source of record sales back in the 90’s. Soulja Boy was on of the first to take off with the online sales (personally I think he’s garbage but he’s a good entrepreneur). As for Bow, I liked him in the 90’s but I think he fell off after 2000 but that was expected.. With changes in the industry you’ve got to create something new and fresh if you want to be on top, or stay in the mixtape game! Stop the hate.

I have nothing against Bow Wow and his career and I show no hatred towards him as an artist. I do disagree with his thoughts on retiring. Although he’s been making good music since he was like 9 he hasn’t reached his prime. Even if he’s dropped 7 albums he still has yet to be mentioned in the arguement of the best rappers in the game. I think he could do good in the acting thing but I wouldn’t want to stop after all the work he’s put in over the years, and retire as someone who is not known as one of the Best mc’s in the game. I mean it’s on him, but him stopping now, being out of the best rapper conversation completely, would basically say he wasted his time on his past albums.
