America says when you’re 21 you are allowed to “drink” who on here started when you were 21?…Yeah probably 12 for most of ya. PLEASE do not:

1) compare marijuanas effects to alcohol.
studies from BBC even showed high drivers to perform slightly better than sober on test courses, and being not only at a more consistant speed than normal drivers but to switch lanes less.

2) compare the negative qualities to alcohol.
yes as a DRUG it does alter your state of mind, but not wanting to do your taxes till the last minute or forgetting because your baked can not be compared to spouse/child abuse and aggressive behavior in bars and streets.

3) try to even in the least bit say that smoking weed is reckless, immature, or irresponsible.
i know people, including myself, that were DAILY smokers that did things like: worked 40 hour work weeks, work 2 jobs full time with day and night shift, attended school while working and maintaining good grades.

THE FACTS:

The government wont legalize cron because it would have to invest money instead of gorilla style smash and grab tactics and using the cartel money to fund more corrupt pursuits.

The goverment wont legalize cron because it would have to lose tons of money to health care, perscriptions, and co-pay. Also because it IS the back up behind most of those cartels.

I would rather raise kids in a world were they can legally choose to smoke marijuana as opposed to drinking, cigarettes, or funding even worse activities. Matter of fact is I have never seen anyone go wrong from marijuana that didn’t either A) Have a terrible pre-existing self destructive seed planted or B) WERE SELLING IT. Its like that Dewey Cox movie, when they talk about cron its hilarious how true it is.

If find a lot of the anti marijuana post funny here, you would think a hip hop site wouldn’t feed so easily into BS.

We know scientifically marijuana is a non-fatal drug. Alcohol and tobacco are fatal drugs. Also unlike alcohol and tobacco weed has no major long tem effects. Alcohol and tobacco have also been proven numerous times to have higher dependency/addiction rates (ironically higher rates then intense street drugs like X and LSD).

Salvia a dissociative (same call of drugs as PCP) is legal yet weed isn’t. Hell in the US weed has harsher penalties than cocaine, because they consider cocaine to have medical uses.

Marijuana should be legal but that would mean a county like the US would basically be admitting that they were wrong spending billions over the last 80+ years on anti marijuana.

yes… it would help remove our fucking 10 trillion dollar deficit.. the drug market will never die and its a great place to start an enterprise.. there will be tons of revenue for the nation and it will cause less crime due to its legality. a downside probably will have to do with the fact that since the government will regulate the product, they will add tax on to it.

and if another depression hits america, they’re definitely going to legalize it.. just like the Prohibition of alocohl in the which was repealed after the great depression in the 1920’s-30’s.

Bottom line is…People are not going to stop smoking weed. The government would be doing itself a tremendous favor if they just legalized it. Not only would they be making money from the taxes but they would also be saving money by no longer having to hire/pay drug enforcement officials/raids/etc. The also save money by keeping people convicted of drug related crimes out of jail thereby having space for the REAL criminals.

I live in the Netherlands and i do smoke weed once in a while. It is not entirely legal here, you may smoke it, but you can only buy it in special weed shops IF you’re above 18. Weed and hash are the only drugs you can get there, people can buy this without the risk of getting into contact with heavy drugs like coke and herioïn
It is illigal to grow it and sell it to weed shops, so the government can’t inspect the growers. This means that all the trade is controled by dangerous criminals from the former sovjet republic. If the government would legalize growing and trading weed, it could be done by farmers. In that case the criminals wouldn’t have business here, because the weed shops could get it legal.
This does not mean the goverment should promote the use; they don’t promote the use of alcohol either. But because people use alcohol anyway, it is legal. The prohibition in the 1920’s wasn’t a succes, nor is the war on drugs.
