Joe Budden’s, “Padded Room,” debuts with 13,600 records sold while K’nann sold over 15k. Is this above or below what you expected Joe Budden to doing via Amalgam Digital? He definitely need more promo, he didn’t have any videos on TV or a record getting played on radio or the clubs. Artist need to start hiring me to do their marketing.

In order for someone like Budden to sell he needs to have songs out on the radio on TV..etc to get some buzz before he drops his album. I think Amalgam digital pays like Koch. You do your own promotion and make like $5 or $6 a copy. So those are probably good #s for the first week if you do the math.

K’Naan was ALLL on MTV JAMS thats good promotion. Joe didnt have any promotion outside of the internet and sold 14K and probably $5 a copy. You do the math. Why you muddafuckas care so much about 1st week sales anyway? Its not like an artist’s first week sales will be the FINAL sales. He will probably end up doing 50K-75K overall. Thats VERY good for indie artist. Ace Hood and Ryan Leslie did 20K first week on a major. Yall need to stop comparing indie numbers to major label numbers…

Being a great rapper has nothing to do with album sales. I was comparing the two because Ace Hood is on Def Jam and had A LOT of promo, yet only moved 20K. Budden had no promo and did 14K on a indie. You fickle ass rap fans actually think album sales gauge how good a rapper is. You dumb ass prick. 50 Cent really got mothafuckas thinking they A&R’s these days, worrying bout 1st week sales in shit. Major label artist make 20 cents per album or less(If think it’s more you don’t know shit). Joe Budden is a indie label artist and sold 14k. He’s making like $5 or $6 per album on a indie label.
