Okay, now this song is OBVIOUSLY not directed at just one person. Keri took a stab at everyone, just as Beyonce did in “Diva”. The part where she says you need to settle down & have some babies, “move it to the left”, was obviously a jab at Beyonce. The whole thing couldn’t have been about Beyonce because we all know Keri didn’t write any of Beyonce’s music. “Check the credits hoe” was a kick in Ciara’s stomach because Keri has written a few songs for her.
Honestly, I don’t think Keri should have came on so strong because:
1.) No one really knows who she is yet. I mean- yes, she has ONE major hit song, and people are STARTING to recognize her. BUT when she first came out with her own single, people would say “that’s Keri Hilson” and everybody’s like “Who?”
“You know, that girl that was on that song with Timbaland”
“Ohhhhh yeah. That girl. Oh that’s her?”
2.) This ties in with the first point, but she hasn’t established herself enough to try and put people out there because she’s really not running anything in the music industry. I can see if this was a COMEBACK, but it’s obviously not that because she’s just now coming out.
I’m a fan of Keri Hilson, but seriously, this is like when Bow Wow tried to diss KRS-1. Really? Keri Hilson is a NEWCOMER. To take a stab at an INTERNATIONAL artist is a big step. I just hope she can “back it up” because her “EGO” is pretty big right about now. [no pun intended] hahaha
