Former, “The Wire,” Actor Speaks On Stuggles With Finding A Job
College doesn’t guarantee anything but it helps you get your feet in the door. A Lot of jobs will not even look your way unless you got a degree. The problem is people think all they need is a degree. You need to network and get experience while in school. This young man needs to know acting is risky and you can easily end up broke waiting for your next gig.

A degree is way less risky than being an actor. however some visions are so clear that you need to be able to dream and take risk in going for what you want to do.

2 reasons he cant get a job
1- cuz he really isnt that good of an actor
2- cuz he let young mike open-hand smack the shit outta him repeatedly in cutty’s gym then he was cryin like a lil bitchhhh

a lotta jobs ain’t lookin your way cause you don’t look like them!!! College eh… I did it ain’t mad @ it but I got my job prior to graduation… its all about networking and not makin the person who got you in look bad… IMO!
We need an infrastructure though!

Maybe chopping off the hair so you dont look so typecasted. Take a speech class. A few more acting classed. Appearance is everything in acting and also how drastically you change can help you gain attention from those casting directors. Look at Michael from The Wire, he made it in movies like The Secret Life of Bees and now he’s on 90210. Not exactly where anybody expected him, but thats cause he was able to transform and adapt.
