Alex Rodriguez Tested Positive For Steroids In 2003
“Back then, [baseball] was a different culture,” Rodriguez said. “It was very loose. I was young, I was stupid, I was naïve. I wanted to prove to everyone that I was worth being one of the greatest players of all time.
“I did take a banned substance. For that, I am very sorry and deeply regretful.”

Should players caught taking steriods be allowed in the Hall of Fame?

Let the man live, unlike Barry Bonds and Roger Clement he was man enough to come out and say “Man i fucked up”. I respect him now more than ever.
If he reads positive on another test then season long bans should used.
Well done A-Rod!!

He used Roids for three fucking years. His new name should be A-Roid. Why say well done for admitting? Had he come clean a couple of years ago when nobody knew he had been juicing then I would give him some credit. Last year he said in an interview he had NEVER used roids. A-Rod has always denied using steroids.
It’s the same thing with Marion Jones. She always denied taking roids and then finally when there was too many evidence she confessed. I don’t respect him and Marion Jones more than ever only because Barry Bonds and Roger Clement refuse to face the truth.

everyone needs to chill- no one figured out the whole sport was juicing back in the day??? obviously if your not going to test players they’ll get away with as much as they can, and the person paid to watch over and protect the league, Bud Selig, knew what was happening but b/c home run records kept being broken and attendance was skyrocketing, he looked the other way. Once people found out how widespread steroids had become, Selig tried to pass the blame off to people like Barry Bonds, make him look like a bad person when he was just doing what all players were doing at the time.
btw the person that said a-rod only averaged 30 hr’s without steroids isnt true it was like 37-39 range, and also texas ball park is excellent hitter’s stadium. and the idiots who say he should have confessed b4 he got caught?? no one does that, why would you voluntarily shoot down your own career, endorsements, popularity-no one does that. a-rod, bonds, clemens, were just a few of the hundreds but more likely thousands that did steroids, and just b/c they were great(and would have beenw ithout steroids) they get singled out. what it comes down to is that there’s testing in place now, everyone used to juice, and if you’re looking to blame someone, rather than blame all the players who played in the 80s and 90’s, you should blame the commisioner who gets millions each year to watch over baseball and make sure players aren’t doing things like that.
