Stop The Madness: The NY Post Releases A Controversial Cartoon With A Shot Monkey
Al Sharpton’s thoughts on the cartoon:
“troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys.”NY Post’s Editor & Cheif Responds to Criticism:
“The cartoon is a clear parody of a current news event, to wit the shooting of a violent chimpanzee in Connecticut. It broadly mocks Washington’s efforts to revive the economy. Again, Al Sharpton reveals himself as nothing more than a publicity opportunist.”
The person that created this cartoon must of knew it would appear racist and would cause a lot of controversy. The situation where the monkey got shot was serious, with a woman being severely injured. On top of that Barack Obama is basically compared to a crazy monkey since it is his Stimulus Bill. What are your thoughts?

Thats amazing in different story @ a book store in miami beach they got a display of different OBAMA books. But “someone” switched out a book and put a book of chimps in that obama display. Alot of theses “people” are just hating and cant face the fact that we have a BLACK PRESIDENT.

You guys need to brush up on your current events..the monkey is not reffering to Obama…its referring to the politicians in government who fucked up Obama’s bill, by watering it down so that it’s not what it needs to be…he had to let them do it so that he could get it passed…this picture only looks racist when you view it outside of it’s intended context…..this isnt CLEARLY racist, it may or may not have some racist understones, but who knows..but the monkey was neccessary to correlate with the monkey shooting incident.

The cartoonist must have known this would happen. The stimulus is not being called a bunch of peoples bill, it’s being called Obamas bill. The presidents bill. The new guy in the oval offices bill. Yes, other people wrote the bill also, but who is the only one really pushing it? Obama. So, when this jackass came up with this cartoon, he must have known what was going to happen. I know, I know, Obama did not write it by himself. What I’m trying to say is that the person associated with it the most is the president. The BLACK president. I think that this cartoon is a piece of conservative racist garbage that should be banned. this cartoon implies that the president should be shot. If the post wanted to refer the house they should have used a different picture that symbolized the house as whole not one dead chimpanzee which could easily be linked to African Americans.
