Charles Hamilton is mediocre at best, and for reasons unknown he is completely oblivious to this. Yes he can freestyle in most technical sense of the word (rhyming off the top), but rarely do they amount to anything worth critical praise or scrutiny. His ace in the hole is his youth (which will not only fade, but fails to distinguish him from the younger and better talent that have entered [Nas, Outkast, lloyd banks] and will enter the rap game) and his insistance upon embodying “real” hip-hop (whatever the fuck that means anymore). He’s most notable for wearing pink , his sonic the hedge hog paraphernalia, the great pains he makes to be “different”, and a cocky attitude that has yet to be validated by his body of work (which most notably consists of a moderately hot single, lack luster cyphers with more talented artists [Corey Gunz, Serius, Mickey Factz, Asher Roth, etc.] and a rather weak homage to a porn star). Serius DESTROYED him in that battle because he is just a better rapper. Someone Charles had no business going at in the first place (like many other rappers he’s called out in his short career)
RTNY has done a hell of a job promoting him and dude has developed a reasonable following, but I believe neither the promotion or buzz to be deserved.
I promise Im not a hater, I just dont understand why he’s received the press (XXL cover) or the company (Joe Budden) he has.
Niggas forgot hov came at nas and ask him to battle live nas said no cuz most rapper aren’t like jay he actually memorizes lyrics so u can’t beat a rapper like that cuz he’s has bars stored in his memory like a ipod has songs this young rappers a get at him because that’s how they r train hov has a young rappers train of thought…stay sharp with bars just in case I got a beat I can spit at the drop of a dime…him and eminem r like that but other then that a battle with these so called hottest rappers would b wack unless its the young gunner and no not chris and neff tho chris is nice
