I think some of yall are forgetting that American society is all about money…i.e. capitalism. Of course that’s going to come across in rap music — if you were from the hood and became a millionaire by the time you were 25 money would be on your mind

I’m tired of hearing the same stuff too, but I am older so it really takes a real song to make me want to listen. Being that I watched Hip Hop from the beginning, it sort of saddens me as to how it turned out. It’s like having real big hopes and aspirations for your child and then they grow up to be shit. Hip Hop does reflect the times though but it is mostly based on young peoples views. In these times, it’s not cool to be young and naive, you have to give yourselves a head start. Don’t wait until your 30’s to open your eyes, we all play a part in making the world better for our children, black, white, asian, puerto rican, jewish, whatever. It’s time to step it up and leave ignorance and stupidity behind. Peace……

yeah, I think it’s going back to the early 90’s again. just like how the fashion is changing, slimming down like the clothes in the 80’s, the same for our music going back to that conscious rap.
