Commons use of the sample came out waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before Lil Wayne. And John Legend performed it live on the road years before that and before that, Nina Simone originally recorded it in 1964, then The Animals used it, and Joe Cocker and tons of other artists. Wayne was the last before Cassidy that I know of.

Its ok, the beat was hot lol. but im sure I cud think up a better verse than that, and im just a programmer that sits around his lil PC, watches anime, play games and spit game at girls. *smh* its different I know to actually spit those rhymes in the booth and then to craft a song or verse that will attract people. The best version btwn Wayne, Cass and Common is easily Common’s version which came out before Wayne’s and is on “Finding Forever”.

P.S. Nina Simone has been sampled so many times. Sinner man and Bojangles are two of her other songs that get sampled a lot.
