its so corny, everybody says shit like “if you don’t like a certain type of music don’t listen to it”, but how does that work when BET/radio(the 2 major media outlets of hip hop music) do NOTHING BUT PLAY BULLSHIT ALL DAY!!! You know what killed hip hop (or is killing hip hop)? all of this talk about categories is killing hip hop. When you categorize a type of music, you marginalize it. These old, white, racists label execs who don’t know shit about Hip-Hop and can’t understand it, need to use categories to help them keep up with it, and when one category is selling, and the others are not THAT IS WHEN the radio is flooded with a bunch of bullshit that sounds exactly THE SAME!!!! What ever happened to just being an MC. When Outkast came out, they were of course southern rappers, but they were MC’s first. The same goes for Scarface and the Geto Boys, or Goodie Mob, and all of the legendary southern artists. Nowadays rappers act like being an MC is lame, or like they are “too cool”, or better yet, too “swagged out” to be a good rapper. ERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! makes me angry…pardon my rant

@ #2. “but how does that work when BET/radio(the 2 major media outlets of hip hop music) do NOTHING BUT PLAY BULLSHIT ALL DAY!!!”

simple dont tune into BET and dont tune into your radio. Bump your own music. works for me, idk it might work for you 2.

  5. HipHop Says:

Back in the day when there was only 12 serious artist out hip hop/rap should not have been put into categories. But now that there is more rappers then fans it should be broken down into seperate categories. Its happened in all types of music when it grows to B.I.G.

R&B has Neo soul, Motown sound, contemporary…

Rock n Roll has classic Rock, heavy metal, harcore…

Rap needs to be broken down now, im tired of hearing Bullshit mixed in with real rap, cause real rap doesnt have a seperate station. Who wants to hear solja boy after a new nas record? or Wayne after some classic Hov? or Common mixed with D4L… Itll clear room on real rap stations and give real rappers their propper spins. Real rappers dont have to compete with the young niggas and can let themselves age. Nobody wants to see 40 year old LL Cool J on 106 & park fighting for the same fans as Wayne or Busta fighting for T.I.’s fans

Break rap down west/east/Southern, or bullshit snap dance records/real, or Hardcore/commercial just give it some room to grow

  6. Vaseline Says:

    LUDA is the KING!
