Kanye West Gives His Thoughts On Religion
When I listened back to the New Zealand conference I was like whoa this is pretty harsh. Sometimes I speak with no filter. I did not mean to be so harsh on the subject of Christianity being that I was a well known Christian. When I was at my Mom’s funeral a fucking stranger came up to me and said, “I hope you’ve accepted Jesus as your saviour so you can see your Mother again!” My entire life, being an african american, Christianity was forced down my throat. Since I was a child, I would ask questions like, “so are little babies that can’t speak yet going to hell also?” I one thousand percent believe in God, I believe in Karma, I believe in being a good person. I’m not trying to tell people what they should believe or not believe. To each is his own. I was in situations where someone constantly used Jesus to show me how baaaad a person I was or how not perfect or not Christ like I was. When I say I don’t want to be Christ like I’m saying I’m fine with not being perfect. I’m fine with being a human being. I’m happy with just that.

I got similar feelings towards religion, seems like a lot of people follow it because it was forced on them or they are scared of going to hell. But I’m not knocking it if it has a positive influence in your life and gets you past tough times.

Word, I believe in Karma(cause and effect) and an almighty God. I grew up with a Baptist mother and a father who studied Islam, so I have had my moments of confusion, and still do. I’ve read on other religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism, and it seems to me they have the same basic principles, but to each his own. I don’t believe God punishes us, I believe we punish ourselves by not fully understanding the actions we take. I don’t believe karma is good or bad; it is just simply action. But who knows?

shit when i was a lil guy and i first went to the zoo,i saw lions and they told me i cudnt touch him caz he wud eat me. i wondered if lions and tigers were gonna go to hell too *smh*
when i got older, started to learn about religions other than christianity thats when my brain just got haywired. i mean… jesus told us, well… them atlease <_<…. that violence is wrong but then its cool for a muslim to kill a stupid bitch? *smh*

Kanye been buggin’ since his mom died. I got a friend that began to question his beliefs after his mom died also.
I really think that a lot of people are ignorant when it comes to religious beliefs. We tend to judge an entire religion on the basis of what a person in that religion does. For example, ignorant people think all Muslims are terrorist because of 9/11, or that all Christians are fake because of the conservatives in America. The same way people talk about karma and don’t know that’s a Hindu and Buddhist belief. The same way non Christians celebrate Christmas.(Christ) = Jesus (Mas) = Worship so Christmas means Christ Worship.

Well like i said before, i dont argue and im not arguing with you or am i knocking you for not believing. I made a simple comment and it was not directed to anybody. i didnt say anyones name.
me saying there is alot more i could say means that i could go on and on about why I, believe. i was always told by a wise man to never argue religion or politics so i just made that statement and left it there. Once again it had nothing to do with what you said. i would never push what i believe on anybody.

^^ My bad, i just felt that with me saying that i wasn’t a believer that you were dissin me. I mean i respect other folks religion i respect them being religious i don’t judge. And even if they disobey there religion for me to ever care i don’t even tho its a shame.
Its only when a person comes at me and diss me for not being religious is when i would snap. And that happens alot i would tell a person that im not a religious person then they would start to opposing and judging me. And me being a fare person and treatin folks the way i want to be treated is impossible and i don’t like it. Anytime i tell a person that im a atheist they ask me why as if im some type of devil or something. And me being a open person i don’t mine telling people what i am or what im about.
