Busta Rhymes & Diddy On the Set Of The Arab Money Remix(Is Arab Money Offensive?)
Is saying, “Arab Money,” really an offensive thing? He is basically saying, “Arab Money,” equals a high level of wealth so where is the insult?

Arab money itself isn’t offensive, but using verses from the Quran in a clubsong isnt right.
Personally I don’t feel offended by it but still…
song is aight tho!
December 9th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
I thought people were offended by the way they pronounced Arab. They say A-rab. Could be wrong but I don’t like the song either way
December 9th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Wow, Ron Browz Please Give T-pain His Style Back, ..
December 9th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
@4 ..Yeah Me Too, I Heard “Arab” Is Offensive..It’s Basically Like Callin Us “Nigger” ..So I Was Told ..
December 9th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
They say A-rab(the pronunciation of it) is a racial slur…almost equivalent to nigger….the people are called Arab(Air-rub)…not (Ay-Rab)…Im pretty sure Busta knows that too…but he prolly went with the racial slur for shock value and attention
December 9th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
“Is saying, “Arab Money,” really an offensive thing? He is basically saying, “Arab Money,” equals a high level of wealth so where is the insult?”
The insult is: Most arab countries are really poor. In Afghanistan 2/3 of the population live on under 2$ a day (only 15% of the women can read but that’s a different story).
So what he really means must be “oil shiek money” or something. So why doesn’t he say that?
December 9th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Muslims take their religion very serious, and Busta of all people should know that. Being that he actually took verses from the Quran for this remix, that’s blasphemy. But I guess people would do anything for a dollar nowadays. Plus…I dare that nigga to call an Arab an Ay-Rab to his face…Nigga shouldnt call someone something that he can’t say to them personally. And its not about fear…its just a matter of respect.
December 9th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
dj khaled sayin “we the bessst nig ga” is offensive to me… So more than likely people of arabic decent wil find the a rab ting equally offensive…
But its a minor stil, the track is alot…
December 9th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
It’s offensive because they are using religious verses of the Qur’an to promote a materialistic and repulsive culture – Busta may be Muslim but he’s insulting Muslims by writing stupid verses and trying to connect with spiritual Islamic verses.
December 9th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
THE ORIGINLAL SONG IS NOT OFFENSIVE
THE REMIX IS VERY OFFENSIVE
THE HOOK USES RELIGOUS VERSES WHICH IS NOT A GOOD LOOK BUST!
I URGE HIM 2 CHANGE THAT SHIT UPP BACK TO THE ORIGINAL
It’s offensive because they are using religious verses of the Qur’an to promote a materialistic and repulsive culture – Busta may be Muslim but he’s insulting Muslims by writing stupid verses and trying to connect with spiritual Islamic verses.
AGREE ^^^
December 9th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
Yea that shit is pretty offensive.
the way they pronounce arabs is like calling a black man a nigger. Plus the whole using religious verse of the Qur’an
December 9th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
It is not offensive. what is offensive, people are always angry of something if Busta did not that and a unknown rapper did it who will cares? In my opinion it’s just music. You love it or hate it. But don’t use religion as a motive…..Just my iponion…
December 9th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
I’m a Muslim, and it does not offend me. Those who get offended are just a little too sensitive.
December 9th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
This is defenitly insulting…i am a muslim lets confirm that and it is a Sin to use Verses frm the Quran in a song where they brag about their money and they making profit out of it plus it doesnt matter if a known person or an unknown person said it…it would be equally insulting he needs to apologize!!!
December 9th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
Busta aint got NO Arab Money…..He will never come close to the Oil Sheik Pipeline…..those are Royal Families out there in Saudi…..and they spit on people like Busta Rhymes…
like every other rapper, his raps are FANTASY! ENTERTAINMENT! Period….enjoy
LOL LOL LOL
December 9th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
ques: IS IT OFFENSIVE??
ans: NO! and yes… art is relative and is up for interpretation
can it offend some SURE
and to others its THE LAST PARTY RECORD OF 08
the term a-rabs has been used in a negative fashion describing a person of arabic descent.
muslims are very discipline in their religious rituals and are very strict on how their religion is displayed especially in the public eye. and the words of the quran are most sacred and held highly.
BUT the song was not made with intent to offend it is actually complimenting the success of the many wealthy ppl of arabic nation who often are muslim
THE ACTUAL LINE IS (which isnt clear and chopped and screwed and up translation) Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim, Alhumdulillahi Rabil A’lameen WHICH MEANS “in the name of God, most gracious most merciful all Praise is due to God, lord of the worlds”………… in my opinion we need more lyrics like that in music.
December 9th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
it has nothing to do with the way arab is said. no one cares for the original version.
its all about the remix and its use of Quranic verses.
Islam prohibits most music, let alone a club song using verses from the Quran.
P.S. Fuck DJ Khaled
December 9th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
Fuck busta
why is he using verses of quaran
fucking jew
December 9th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
@18
he could used some other arabic lines
this lines is most known line of quran
so why the fuck did he used it
December 9th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
The song being hot garbage is offensive to me.
December 9th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
do wat u gotta do to get where u gotta get, these niggas live by that shit *smh*
December 9th, 2008 at 9:00 pm
If you are offended then DONT LISTEN TO THE FUCKIN SONG DUMBASSES.
December 9th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
Wow, he’s actually going with this. I thought he’d remove the Quran out of his Chorus once he got the Backlash..but i guess this is how he wants to ride it out. He’ll regret it. Muslims don’t take Islam as a joke..its a VERY strict religion. When he goes on Tour, he’ll see protests..its gonna get ugly.
Do yourself a favor Bus, admit your mistake and correct it. Ignorant fuckin rappers man
December 9th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
Saying A-rab is not the same as calling someone a Nigger at all. Sure, it’s still a “racial” slur, but the history there is not the same at all. Blacks have not enslaved the Arab people, and turn around and call them niggers or “a-rabs”. The history and the intention behind the word “nigger” is what makes it offensive, not the word itself. Because the history isn’t there in this context, “A-rab” =/= “Nigger”. Once again, I acknowledge that they are both offensive, but I find it more offensive that people would make such a generalization.
December 9th, 2008 at 10:04 pm
I’m just gonna point out what has been said earlier, the
original song was cool with me however this remix has the
most used line in the Quran as its chorus. This, in my
book, is highly offensive and is something Bust should do
something about. Urge him to switch it back to the original
chorus..
December 9th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Continuing on that a bit.. The actual saying of A-rab is
not awfully offensive to me, just the lines of the chorus
in case y’all non-muslims and you Nigel are wondering why
ppl might be offended. Not a good look…
December 9th, 2008 at 10:56 pm
yea i agree with the arabs(air-rubs) on this situatiuon but just for the record busta changed his sayiing of arab in the new official video so that part is solved but the remix, not so much
December 9th, 2008 at 11:25 pm

BEING AN ARAB IS LIKE SAYING A BLACK PERSON IS A N***ER
December 10th, 2008 at 9:47 am
lalalalaaalalaala
December 10th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Being Muslim and Arabic are two different things. So of course you homegrown Muslims aren’t offended by the song because you know nothing of their culture and day to day lives. Busta was dead wrong for this, point blank. Arabians aren’t into the exploitation of their religion for profit. Over the past decade rappers have shown the world that they are more than willing to sacrafice their integrity, self-respect, and anything else in the name of a few dollars. Unfortunately for Busta the Arabic community doesn’t share the same set of reckless values. Busta needs to fall all the way back on this.
December 23rd, 2008 at 2:03 pm
1) The Indian music ALONE is offensive. Arabic and Indian are not the same.
2) Salaat? SALAAT? ARe you kidding me? Are you that ignorant and unintelligent to know that this line:
“While I make ya bow down makes salaat like a muslim”
IS OFFENSIVE ?! Religion is incredibly sacred for muslims and you should know that their act of praying can not be mocked like this. AND YOU CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T MOCKING! Because apparently you didn’t research anything about being a muslim or arabic and so you would have NO IDEA of what is offensive or not.
3)Oh and this is the worst. In your so called “Arab singing” in the chorus. You coincidentally (even if unintentionally ) mention Allah (God). Yeah that is gonna piss off looots of people.
It’s too late now, the song’s out, and the only reason you are getting so much publicity is not for becoming famous, but infamous.
Congratulations, I hope you’re fucking happy.

Black people think it’s OK to pronounce the word “arab” as “A-Rab”. It’s a racial slur. Black people say, “It’s not racist, that’s just the way we say it.” But then if you call him “my nigga” and say that there’s a difference between “nigga” and “nigger”, they will get upset.
February 26th, 2009 at 12:27 am
Afghanistan is not a Arab country, goof
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Afghanistan
and it shouldn’t be too offensive. i want to see more of an outcry with respect to the thousands of videos online that proudly play nasheeds over scenes of monstrous brutality (beheadings, throat cuttings, gunshots, etc).
June 5th, 2009 at 12:49 pm
i think this song is fukkked how can u use verses from the quran…i dont care about the A-RAB thing what pisses me off is using the quran in a freaking song…its fukked
