R.I.P. To The Def Jam V.P. Shakir Stewart

Def Jam Executive Vice President Shakir Stewart, who replaced Jay-Z at the helm of the label and signed such artists as Rick Ross and Young Jeezy, died Saturday (November 1). According to reports, he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Further details were not available at press time.

I don’t really like posting about things like this but since he was such a high level executive at Def Jam, I guess it should be posted. R.I.P. to a man who had a great career and played a role in the careers of Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Ciara & Beyonce.

Self-inflicted gunshot wound 2 the head? WORD? Damn man. My heart goes out 2 his fam’ and close friends but real talk dawg … whatever it was … it wasn’t worth takin’ your own life over. Life is worth livin’ 4 real and whatever was goin’ on … there was always the possibility of light and somethin’ positive right around the corner 4 real. That’s disturbing. All in all though some people feel like their lives are so f**ked up that they equate death with peace.
