Timeout, How Can T-Pain Complain About Swagger Jackers?
On T-Pain’s new album, “Thr33 Ringz,” he addresses people using auto-tune on a track called Karaoke. Obviously he would despise people using the same effect he uses in all his music. Instead of paying him crazy money for a hook people figure they can just do it themselves. With that said how can he make a song going at, “Swagger Jackers,” when his people use it more than anyone else. Lil Wayne & Kanye West combined use the effect more than the entire industry, with Kanye even dropping an entire album with the vocoder. T-Pain didn’t create the effect so he can’t pick an choose who is allowed to use it with out getting the, “Swagger Jacker,” title. Most people don’t even sound good with the effect so its best for T-Pain to just focus on making the hits and not call anyone a, “Swagger Jacker.”
On another note the, “Thr33 Ringz,” album is pretty good and drops 11/11/08.

I disagree…who’s the first person that comes to mind when the vocoder is spoken about? It’s gotta be t-pizzle…just because he didn’t invent something doesn’t mean he didn’t make it popular to use in modern mainstream hip hop…as far as allowing wayne and kanye to use it without calling them out…they’re the two most popular rappers why would he want to make enemy’s with them?

No it was being done before pac came along. I know you heard of computer love and slow and easy? Then it was incorporated into into Hip-Hop with California love, Teddy took it to another level with Don’t Leave Me. That’s why Pain said in one of his song he’s the son of Teddy.

I got to side with T-Pain.
Regardless who started it T-Pain made it relevent again. Everyone else is using it based off his success with it. I dont think he has to worry about it though he the only one who can consistanly make good music with it.
If Nas started rockin a flat top again then everyone in the industry copycated then they’d be jackin his style even though he didnt invent it just simply brought it back to mainstream.

I don’t think he’s geting mad because people want to use it. I think most part of it is there are plenty artists who are talented and like he says he needs the autotune, they don’t. So it’s kinda taking away the little shine that he does have. But he made it cool 2 do, now everybody wants to do the same thing, so I guess he just needs to take it as a compliment and share the damn vocoder.

I cosign everyone who agrees with T-Pain…has nothing to do with him calling anyone anything…the real issue is how everyone was gettin on his case saying he can’t sing and he needs the shit to make hot records…whether that’s true or not is besides the point. If he was being hated on that much for it then why everybody and their mother wanna start using it as soon as he starts making mad money of it? Then y’all wanna say he can’t dictate who uses it because it’s been around forever. WAIT WHAT????NO-NO-NO-NO-NO,AUTOTUNE WAS A-L-W-A-Y-S USED AS A PITCH CORRECTION PLUGIN BY VIRTUALLY EVERYONE THAT SINGS IN THE INDUSTRY(MELODYNE IS RIGHT UP THERE AS WELL),IT WAS N-E-V-E-R INTENDED TO BE USED TO RECREATE THE VOCODER EFFECT.
