Ummm……
shit. I’m not feeling this. The hook is weak. I understand the message and the timing of the song, but yikes. Since i’m one of the first to comment, i hope i dont get the negativity train rollin’ but naw, this gets a 5.5 outta 10 for me, strictly due to content.

Had to listen twice…it’s good music. Every song ain’t gonna be that shit but that doesn’t make it wack. It’s just an artist expressing himself at that moment. And auto tune is not wack. It’s copycat biters that’s wack! When you’re in it for the love or the art, you do what feels good to you. But the majority do it for the money and/or fame.

I think this is a nice track. I’m not trying to hear it in the club or anything, but it’ll be a nice additional to the album.

I love this song so bad man this song is one of the best song and one of my favorite song iv ever heard this year. Matter of fact this song is one of the best song that jay-z has ever done and it one of the best song iv heard period. After listening to this song i can honestly say that jay-z is the best rapper and will alway be the best rapper alive. And im not saying that he wasn’t the best before but after hearing a certain song from a artist. Its like that artist to you is more then just being the best rapper alive but he is a funominal artist.

This song is serious. The multi-layered meanings are what make this record, as always, the devil is in the details. Now, where the H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks is the CDS dirty version? LOL. Holla @ ya boy in BK!

IMHO this song is powerful. When they called the election for Obama on Tuesday, I was overwhelmed, but I don’t think it really sank in at the time. Then, last night, as I was browsing realtalk, I bumped into the thread about this song. As I was listening to the words of the song, what I had witnessed on Tuesday night began to sink in, and I broke down and began to sob uncontrollably. The magnitude of the moment, and what it said about us, overtook any feeble attempt I may have made to control my emotions. It was vindication (not that it was necessary)… it was almost as if the mere election of an African American to the highest office in the land had proved them wrong… the supremacists and their allies of centuries past had been proven wrong in the most devastating of ways. However, once the crying had come and gone, it was replaced by an undescribable joy, the type that can never be extinguished.
The joy of this victory does not belong to us alone, but to every person in the world who has ever fought injustice in its many forms… to every person who fought for equality regardless of the consequences… to all those who paid the ultimate price in that fight… Tuesday November 4th 2008 belonged to you too. We have reaped the rewards of the seeds you planted, and for that, I shall eternally be in your debt. There is nothing I can do to repay you for your courage and sacrifice, but live my life as best I can, and cherish the gifts your sacrifices rendered us.

White boy I agree man this song is the best I have heard all year. It speaks to the soul. It speaks to us because we have a purpose we have dreams and we can relate fully to the pain of wanting to accomplish greatness. Hov I respect you and I hope to always respect you.
