Note To Record Labels, Artists, Etc.
Simple message, if your not going to look out for the site don’t expect for me to look out for you. If you can’t do something as simple as set up an interview or send an invite to a listening session don’t expect a lot of promotion on the site. Don’t email me tracks or videos to post, kick rocks. Yea the site is RealTalkNY but if you don’t see a lot of New York artists on it, it will be because they ain’t show any love. Don’t quite understand why labels/artists wouldn’t want to take advantage of free promotion but it is what it is.
Edit: I’m not taking about artist at the top of the game. (Kanye/Jay-Z/Lil Wayne/50 Cent/T.I.)

Your site will get more hurt then the rappers if you don’t post there tracks or videos. Sending you that shit in a way is showing you love because people will come to this site looking for that shit. My advice to you is to pull your head out of your ass and put in that work. Instead of trying to force a label to show your site some love make this site so big that they will have to show you love. If you are unable to do that, then “kick rocks”.

Focusing on up and coming artist every now and then is cool, but we don’t want this site to over do it. I don’t want to come here and every time I see something about an artist I think to myself “who the fuck is that”.

i feel that. you get the confirmation and then dude never calls or comes, too much bullsh*t involved in the re-schedule. like they think u dont have ish else to do but to wait for them. id suggest the next time you get that vm or email from pr talking bout his latest and greatest effort, just delete it. its our job to do this but the professionalism of some of these dudes and their crews sux ass. and yeah…the up and coming “hungry” dudes are usually the worst. indie folk… the majors may rape and pillage, but at least they keep their artists on task.

Criticism is one thing. But this is full blown Hate from some of y’all. I come to this site everyday. Not everything I find is useful. But that’s the same with any form of ‘news’ media. I still love the site on most days. You know what I mean? I’m an aspiring artist trying to get into the game and I noticed this shit is really really unprofessional. Everybody always advises stay on your business. But don’t nobody know how to run a business. People tend to be really shady and really inconsiderate. It’s crazy. But Nigel I think you knew what you were getting into when you started the site. So I’m not saying turn the other cheek and let em walk all over you. But be vocal directly to whom it may concern.
