What the heck are you all talking about….I make average money and I can’t afford to go and see even 1 game a year. Tickets cost too much! How can I support someone or a team when I can’t even afford to go and see them play live. These players need to realize that more than just rich people would like to go and see a game….and if you are lucky enough to go see game….god help you if you get thirsty or hungry…you might as well be on an airplane for what they charge you for a drink and food! NBA is for rich people….apparenly they don’t want the lower class showing up at the games or they would make it affordable. the last game I went to a game (suns)was in 1993 in Phx and it cost me $35 a ticket for nosebleeds. If the players took a minor pay cut…maybe 1% then maybe they could set aside a few seats that actuall woking class people can afford. If he NBA isn’t about money….then hell will be frozen shortly.

if you don’t know what “culture” or can’t ID the people being exploited by sports then you’re at a lack of info!

and AI and ron ron do alot for the community from what I’ve heard the difference is the companies people like Kobe and Jordan work for protect their image more than the image of an AI or ROn ron but that may all be for profit too… and an extention of the exploitation! not sayin all exploitation is bad either!

I feel what Jim Brown is saying, but he uses a poor example.

Basketball was invented by a white man, so exactly what “culture” are they exploiting? Two, just because these dudes can run and dunk a ball, that doesn’t mean they owe society anything. Though, I agree that if you’re in a position to better your community, go for it.

But being famous doesn’t obligate you to do so.

…And Mike & Kobe are very poor examples to use anyway.

Regarding sports figures, these two are pretty much saints when compared to your AI’s, Ron Artest’, etc etc.

Dudes is crazy… Anyone who thinks Jim Brown is off is part of the problem!
