Samuel L. Jackson Is Set To Play Sho’Nuff In A Remake Of, “The Last Dragon”
Jackson will play Sho’nuff, the Shogun of Harlem, a role played in the original by the late Julius Carry, whose spiel included asking ego-driven questions like “Am I the baddest mofo lowdown around this town?” Each time his gang of thugs answered, “Sho ’nuff!”
The updated plot will be along the same lines of the original, centering on young martial arts student Leroy Green in his quest through the streets of New York to achieve the highest level of martial arts accomplishment, known as the Last Dragon. Those who achieve the high ranking possess the Glow, making them the greatest fighter alive.The project, announced by Columbia presidents Doug Belgrad and Matt Tolmach, will take a new look at “Last Dragon” coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Motown next year.

This should be pure comedy but I doubt it can live up to the original lol(looks around room for the DVD).

Yes cosign wit #2…This is a classic….one of my favorite movies and I have to agree with #1 Busta Rhymes would have been perfect for the role. Then they could have casted T.I. to play Leroy, Alicia Keys to play Laura Childs. They could even give Tiny a small part in the movie as one of Sho Nuff’s female kung fu fighters with her Punk Brewster hair. Lil Kim could play her kung fu sidekick. They should let me cast the movie it would be off the hinges.

wow! i dont know about this one?? this is a classic movie from the script acting and the sound of the 80’s …..i dont think hollywood would get it right. i like sam but he aint the sho nuff of harlem lol and who’s gonna be bruce leroy?? taimak was that dude , had me rocking wild karate slippers and shit lol
