Review Of, “808’s & Heartbreak,” Listening Session(Dropping Another Album In June)

As for album: yes, it’s almost entirely sung by West, aside from one verse by Young Jeezy on “Amazing” and a duet with Lil Wayne; yes, it is sung almost entirely through Auto-Tune.

West delivered a monologue about how this album is about the freedom to do what you want to do and that he used Auto-Tune because it is the most fun thing ever. Then he said 808s & Heartbreak was about emotional nakedness. Then he said he’ll have another album out next June.

Full Story: The Fader

I was never a big fan of Kanye using the auto-tune but I will give this album a chance.

he should of given himself an alter ego music alias like the gorillaz and put this album out as a side project or even a mixtape…

808s is not for hip hop fans.kanye wants that crossover money and if you dont beleive me then look at the facts.1)his album is supposedly dropping next month and he has not been on 106 and park or even bet for that matter to promote it 2)he debuted love lockdown on mtv 3)he debuted the video on ellen degeneres 4)after he made “stronger” and saw how that crossover money gets way more than club banger money he shitted on his hip hop fans to make a crossover album

    PADDED ROOM IS UPON US!!!!

Kanye is a defiant guy. He does what he wants when he wants. He has decided to play a game of russian roulette. This should have been a mixtape. But Kanye may feel that he is above that so he gonna try and get paid of this album. And he probably will. These numbers will greatly influence the purchase of his next album in my opinion. i.e if this album is trash he may not be the same again.

Look at Pharell and Chad of the Neptunes. They was making a lot of hits. But since the promotion of the NERD albums and them being extremely garbage the beats aint movin like they used to.

  12. SmokinAces Says:

Why are people saying he should drop it as a mixtape? Only hood niggas, and not many of them actually, still buy mixtapes. But guess what hood niggas and “hip hop heads” don’t buy? ALBUMS! Ye is in the business of selling albums. He’s not trying to still impress “hood niggas” with “real hip hop.” Heaven forbib he step out of one zone and attempts to take a risk and be creative a bit.
