  2. LiL WAYNE HATER Says:

Jay-Z best rapper alive ! wayne isnt sorry folks

  3. Lamont Coleman Says:

Know what… Reasonable Doubt it mad overrated, Jay’s rap skills were sharper on his later albums; you can’t tell me that his vocal delivery on Can’t Knock the Hustle was better than it was on So Ghetto, off Vol 3.

The main reason this album is considered classic is because of the beats. And those were simply a product of the times. That’s what hiphop sounded like back then. There are good songs on here but not every track is classic - unlike Doggystyle, Illmatic or Ridin Dirty - for example that track with the Fat Joe vocal sample on the hook is wack.

This album has the status it does because of Jay’s longevity and sucess in the game. If Jay never put out The Blueprint and never made the millions he did, this album would only be remembered, as a solid but not classic album, by hardcore fans of mid-90s hiphop.

  4. Omar Says:

Word up #2, this album would has the same status as Big L’s first joint if Jay ain’t change the game as the first CEO/rapper.

  5. MAS Says:

  8. Rich Yung Says:

    Reasonable Doubt > Illmatic

    Reasonable Doubt >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Doggystyle

LOL @ anything snoop ever put out being better than anything jay-Z put out…

  9. Chiz the Great Says:

LOL at Lamont Coleman…you obviously didn’t grow up in NYC…you wasn’t runnin the clubs in the 90’s….you don’t know what this album felt like at the time…fall back, this ain’t for you.

  10. The Kid Says:

the GOD !!! when this shit came out, NY went wild, and thats why when big passed everyone put hov to the spot. cos der was a million niggaz rapping in NY, buh why dey put a new nigga on the spot. cos this nigga just blew everyones god damn brains away with this shit.

  11. Dee-vo Says:

That’s it NY went wild what about the other 49 states the album was hot don’t get me wrong nigga in other states didn’t feel it like NY did.

  12. Thug Nigga Says:

I wish my cable box still had my taping, my TIVO rather

  15. Chiz the Great Says:

@ #12-My comment was directed at #3 NOT Big L lol!!! What I’m sayin is if you wasn’t in NYC from late 93′ to 99 then you don’t really understand the impact that Reasonable Doubt had on some people. Hov said it-some people at first really didn’t get it…but if you was a NYC scrambler…that album plus Ready To Die, 36 Chambers…those were the soundtrack to the movement.

“i’d rather die enormous than live dormant, that’s how we on it…”

  16. ray Says:

damn this documentary is sick. where can i DOWNLOAD THIS? i need this in my archives. This is exactly the way i view Reasonable Doubt. It becomes sicker every year i listen. every movie i watch. its just insane. American Gangster kinda gets me in a similar mood. its not as in depth but jay just expresses a lot of feeling. But what made Reasonable Doubt a classic is exactly what jay said ” The songs had no format, i was just rappin, didnt even have hooks i just spit verses” Thats what a album should be FUCK A SINGLE OR FORMAT. Just spit that crack… RIP classic albums.

  17. A.P. Says:

The G.O.A.T., Jay - Z!! It’s one of my favorite Jigga Albums, but it seems like he made the album seem like a New Release as of the day this was broadcast.

    HOV’s A Businessman. HOV’s A Business, Man!

  18. The GUArdian Says:

People who dont think Reasonable Doubt was a classic are retarted…Its not about only the beats…you have to read between the lines and understand the pain and glory…This nigga right here had punchlines before people knew what punchlines were…Jay Hova…The Truth…

  19. infu Says:

WOW Great documentary but I’m a little taken back to see how they completely forgot to mention damon dash or kareem Biggs Burke it’s like ever since the split they’re erasing them from the history of rocafella . . .that lexus gs that foxy spoke of was actually a gift from dame, the money they brought to kevin liles and others in duffle bags was actually Bigg’s dough it’s funny how history has the ablity to change itself
