The Game’s L.A.X. Sells 238k Records In It’s First Week

Slipknot’s “All Hope Is Gone” barely wins out over the Game’s “LAX” in the race for No. 1 on The Billboard 200 this week. The Roadrunner set moved 239,516 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, only 1,134 more than the rapper’s Geffen album at 238,382.

“The Documentary,” sold 586k the first week while the, “Doctor’s Advocate,” sold 368k. As we all know record sales have fallen across the board and 220k is a very successful debut. T.O.S. only managed 102k records sold for the first week on sale.

lol look at nigel makin his excuses for the game pushin 220k first week lol.. Tos only sold blah blah blah lol gunit a group album not a solo.. So the comparison is poor… If u compare the sales of tos compared to other hiphop albums released this year then tos is at the tippy lol..
Your comparison therefore is weak, Lax sales comparisons should be made based on solo releases…

I agree with u on the album it wasnt all that. As far as realtalk trying to compare l.a.x to t.o.s I believe t.o.s would of done better if all that g-unit and buck shit wouldnt have gotten in the way. So if they want to compare L.A.X numbers they should compare there numbers to CURTISSSSSSSSSSSSS.

its funny how when G-unit sells 102k or when banks moved 140k first week when dont hear shit about “oh the sells have been going down”..soon as another nigga drop below expectations logic sets in for niggas lol…Game went from 5mill to 1mill to probably just gold on this one but people will ignore that..but when 50 went Gold in his first week selling over 600copies it was a flop? smh lol…then he goes onto sell what 1.2-1.3 on “Curtis” people say its a flop…but Game aint flop when he went from 5 million to 1 millon to gold?..smh..damn shame at the hate 50 gets lol

I’m not a g-unit fan but…Why do Game and other idiots compare game sales to g-unit? Compare game to fif and g-unit to back wall street… Oh! Damn! Black wall street never had a album and game has never had a strong movement to make a star off his own imprint. Fif for all the shit people talk about him made Game and Buck stars. 220k sucks for his standards just as Tos sold 102k for their standards no excuse in that but its so funny that the game gets an logic explanation but Tos gets it flopped hard lol give me a break, imo i liked Tos more then Lax but lax is tough cuz game is solo but that nigger talks to much about 64 dre eminem g-unit and dre.

Well when you push your album back every 2-3 months for almost 1-2 years i’d say youre sells are going to be pretty good.
Also, think about it.. How many songs and singles was that dude just jumpin on… If you think about it.. he paid his dues to get those type of results/numbers.
Lets also remember.. Look at that nigga’s fanbase.. All the ladies love Weezy.. no homo.. as far as Game goes he cant capture that fanbase.. and tha fellas said to say arent buying albums

Y’all niggas always making excuses for 50. 50 went from not fuckin with no one except G Unit. Then he started making songs with Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake. Game shit is hot and this is proof that he don’t need 50 or Dre. Third time in a row, he has solid numbers. And a dope album. G Unit shit was trash, and bad news travels fast. Hopefully 50 would get his mojo back since he’s not on top no more.

U are sooo biased. 230K is weak, bump that. The way he talks he should be going at least gold on every album the first week. Ever since he left G-Unit, his record sales have been getting lower and lower, and he claims to have single handedly killed G-Unit. Ha! If he killed G-Unit then why is 50 selling more than 3x he does the first week? That album was weak and The Game fell off. Point blank. If Kanye, 50, and even Wayne did it, then it is possible to sell alot. Excuses smh. The Game is soooo effin delusional about his accomplishments. IMO, he really isn’t that relevant in hip hop. come on guys we need to get off dis album sales rubbish, who cares how many sales an album gets? what with internet downloads and pirate cd’s at an all time high, the amount of original cd sales is NOT a true reflection of the popularity of an album. LAX is fire, a dope album that pisses over anything 50 or g-unit can come out with. and in terms of ability, da game could take it to 50 any day of the week, he a true MC and not a ’singer’ like 50. bottom line is this, if u judge a cd by its actual accomplishment the Nas ‘Untitled’ would be at the top of the tree right (even though it has the lowest sales of the 3. NaS rules, game second, 50 nowhere!

It needs to be some added rankings in hip hop. From now on, 250K is silver. Thats a solid number depending on how much marketing and promotion you put in a project. I think Baby’s album did that. Shit Plies album almost did that the first week it dropped and he dropped the same week as wayne. 250k isnt bad. Game will go gold which isnt bad either.
On another note, Jeezy album is the sound track to the streets right now. He should go gold this week easy. I thought it would be hard because of the holiday weekend and niggas blowing they cheese lol but this album is worth the $13.
