Blender Magazine Calls Tupac The Most Overrated Person In Music
Dead rapper Tupac “2Pac” Shakur, the hip-hop icon who sold more records after he was murdered than during his brief career, is the most overrated person in music, according to music magazine Blender.
Shakur tops a tongue-in-cheek list that also includes “places, trends and other junk in rock,” Blender said in its upcoming October issue, due on newsstands next week.
But while Shakur was a decent rapper with “insane rock-star charisma,” according to Blender, he also “larded records with self-mythologizing, mediocre filler.”
It’s not the first time the pages of Blender have been used to bring down Shakur a few notches. In its June issue, rapper Lil Wayne listed him among his top five rappers, but then admitted: “I can’t front: I was never into Pac.”

First of all, Blender Magazine sucks. Second, Tupac Shakur is not the most overrated person in music. He’s not even the most overrated rapper. It’s currently a tie between Biggie and Lil Wayne. Third, Elvis Presley is the most overrated person in music. He stole Black music and made himself wealthy (thanks Eminem). Blender has lost its credibility and I never heard of it.

Blender Mag and alot others just don’t get it. Pac was not all about being the tightest lyricist. Pac is more than just an artist he was warrior who always stood up for what he believed in and he touches the people with his music like no one ever could. Wayne could never touch people the way Pac did. No disrespect to Wayne. And Biggie was a dope Mc but he did have content in his music like Pac did. Most of the shit Biggie rapped about was lavish, killing, and all that but don’t get me wrong Big was one of the tightest to ever touch the mic.

Tupac is called the most over-rated rapper dew to the shit that he’s been through and the things that was going on in his life and around it. On top of that he was very successful he accomplish alot of thing and he had a certain type of style that was different. 2 pac was ahead of the game and rite when he hit the top spot he got shot 4 time and was killed. Everything that he did was light camera and acting it was entertaining all the spot light was on him. I mean when he spit diss a rapper got shot went to jail made movies record labal everybody was focus on only him especially with the beef that he had with biggie.
In my opinion if any rapper get that chance to where they are consider over-rate. If they work that hard for it then they basically deserve it. And they should keep working towards it that one of the thing that lil wayne is doing when he be jumpin on other people song is to get more attention. And i think that lil wayne tupac and any other rapper who’s doing it big deserved that over-rated moment.

Music is filled with other genres so make the case for the discussion, not things that have nothing to do with the topic. Pac overrated hmmmm, that’s a stretch. He may not be the best lyrically(Andre 3000), but he is the most influential rapper of the 90’s. He was more than just an emcee, he was an revolutionary. No one was as real and passionate as Pac. People are entitled to there opinion, but if you weren’t at least a teenager in the early 90’s, then hold your peace.

Pac is overrated in the sense of being a lyricist, and I don’t think anyone could even deny that. As far as being a rapper, he’s definitely one of the greats. You just can’t beat songs like ‘dear mammma’ or ‘keep your head up’.
I’ve listened to a lot of pac, and his songs probably touched more lives then anyone in hip hop ever, so you really have to take all of that into account.
Nas is a better MC then Pac was, but I dare Nas to try to make an “I get around’ or “California Love”. Believe me, Nas has tried, but to avail.

I’ve always thought Pac as a pure lyrical MC wasn’t “all that”, I think he mad powerful music and had strong messages, but lyrically, not at all, so in that since he’s slightly over rated. I think it’s his persona and image that has people so engaged. He is better than Lil Wayne and I think Eminme(although a very good emcee) is over rated as well.

pac is my favortie rapper ever aside from style p. he is overated. he made real music AND great albums. however, he could never go line for line with hova, nas or biggie.
I think people are going off the 5000 songs that he would make in a day and WOULD NEVER RELEASE. i would say that the record labels are hurting him by releasing subpar music to make money.

2pac could never be overrated. Tupac was the realest, and the greatest, if you listen to music now a days, rappers use a million metaphors and at the end of the song they have said absolutely NOTHING… i e (lil wayne). A lot of people hate on PAC while they praise to B I G or NAS or JAY when even B I G said PAC was one of his favorite rappers. Then they try to say lil wayne who’s name don’t even fit in the same sentence as PAC. If anyone is overrated its lil wayne. Then they say the deathrow 2PAC wasn’t who he really was, forgetting that fact that he shot 2 police officer before he went to deathrow. See 2pac gave it to you from every angle, you could relate to him from being broke to having money to hard time when you felt hopeless and wanted to give up. Rappers today only talk about money, drugs, cars and high prices brands that don’t appeal to nobody. You felt 2pac’s music, you can compare his music to any of your favorite rappers and you would realize that their is no comparison
