BET Announces 2008 Hip Hop Award Nominees

BET Networks has announced the nominees for the third annual BET Hip Hop Awards, which will be returning to Atlanta, GA this October. The ceremony, which will be hosted by comedian, Katt Williams, will take place at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center on Saturday, October 18 and air on BET, Thursday, October 23 at 8:00pm.

Lil Wayne, who’s already had an extraordinary year in music thus far, leads this year’s awards with 12 nods, followed by Kanye West with 7 nods and Jay-Z with 6 nods. Music mogul, Russell Simmons, will be honored with the coveted “I Am Hip Hop” Icon Award which is presented to an individual who during their career has made exceptional contributions to the hip hop community.

I see 50’s dick riders are right one time. SMH. 50’s album wasn’t that hot (and neither was Wayne’s, but since everybody and their mama is hyping up the gremlin, he has to be there) and he didn’t have very many singles compared to them. Why are you mad he’s not nominated as many times as Wayne, Kanye, and Jay? They didn’t just have albums, those niggas were EVERYWHERE this past year. 50 wasn’t (at least music-wise because that nigga stay making his money). I mean, at least he got nominated, right?

They hating on 50 big time!! How the hell is Jay-Z American gangster get nominated, that was the wackest album of Jays career and I love Jay-Z’s music too. 50’s album sold more than Jays and had a better single and album and for them to not even nominate, I think is just pure hate.
