Kanye West Testing Out New Tracks On The General Public

We missed our flight and had to wait a couple of hours in the lounge,” says Lewis, whose second solo album, Acid Tongue, is scheduled for release on Sept. 23. “I noticed Kanye West was waiting for the same flight. He looked over and said, ‘Excuse me, would you mind listening to my new track?’ And so he put his headphones on my head and I listened to two of his new songs. He had no idea who I was. I guess he was doing research.”

Every rapper should hit the streets and get opinions on their music before dropping an album.

    I say drop some rappin first. we done ripped you up on that love lockdown shit. you gonna give me some ” drunk and hot girls singing type shit save it for the album. you get a general perception from the community that you don’t rap no more.

    Give it a rest, number 1. While I’ll agree with you that “Drunk & Hot Girls” wasn’t hot, his music is innovative and he’s an artist. So don’t expect him to always come out with a rap song. You forget that he started as a producer. He has a vision and rapping is just a prerequiste to his artistry.

  3. mateo Says:

    i forgot about drunk and hot girls omg if that album is full of tracks lik that im not coppin…that track was saved by mos def..i doubt his album is that lucky

  4. Jacko Says:

    Kanye started as a producer, artist. Guess he ain’t really emceeing to me. you can progress musically as an artist, but if ain’t hip hop you ain’t a mc, you ain’t rappin that’s it. you ain’t rhymin you ain’t emceein. it’s as simple as that. Kanye is a great artist, guess people put him on the top mc’s spot, people will attack you like sharks. they’ll get critical on you. to emcee for hip hop fans is a tough crowd, they probably nominated Kanye as the up and coming “mc” when he probably was on ” I’m just an artist” big difference between being an artist( generally ) and being one of the top mc’s along side Lil Wayne as the fans say.

    You fucking idiot, thats what the internet and mixtapes is for, fuck you mean hit the streets and get people’s opinios, if that was the case we wouldn’t need blogs. SMH.

    @7 comment

    I really don’t understand where you are coming from with that comment. If Kanye is not a Hip-Hop artist, then what is he? What is your definition of Hip-Hop or an MC? It is where he started, so to say he is not hip-hop is a big negative. Just because he is different it shouldn’t exclude him from being considered a hip-hop artists. Hip-Hop has changed from the start and it is still changing. Being a unique artist is what sets you aside from the rest. He’s a smart man and takes his chances with his music. So far has been very successful at it. So you can’t hate on that.

    im sure that there will be another single out. If it doesnt work then they just have to try again. Diamonds was the first single from Registration. I thought it was a dope song, but then when Gold Digger dropped, the response was crazy from all angles.

  19. shine95 Says:

    my point earlier was, if you ain’t rhyme you don’t mc, you ain’t hip hop period. you got to rhyme to rap. him droppin that love lockdown make real heads bug like yo Kanye don’t rap no more. shit ain’t hip hop he don’t rap. my point is if he got 13 cuts of love lockdowns all audiotuned like that for the album, that’s probably an artist that’s musically growned but definitely not an mc therefore not hip hop. I don’t give a fuck how much positive shit dude is spittin, if you sing the whole album then he switches his shit to R&B. my point on the whole album is singing. this connects to my 1st comment up top.

  20. shine95 Says:

    and oh yeah to #2 I never said that Drunk and hot girls wasn’t hot. I actually like that song for the bitches.LOL
