the funny thing about this, and when he was on 106 is that he still wears his thug days on his sleeve like a badge of honor. i mean, it ain’t like this nigga got outta prison and became a lawyer or whatever, he got rich and continues to get rich off of glorifying and reppin the very shit he’s now denouncing.
a teenager is gonna see right through this as morality platitudes and still think i can thug then get my shit together later.
Yes… teach the kids how to be gangsta. [Not stupid.]
“…who willing to educate they self.”
“…ain’t nobody just waked up…”
(***bad english) Practice what you preach. Egemacate yo self, foo.
Learn how to speak proper [especially in public/In front of da kids].
& 4 the record yes i am a T.I. fan.
Your damned if you do and damned if you don’t. If he hadn’t said anything, or didn’t try to do anything for the community we would be raggin on him for that saying he’s irresponsible and should try to send a better message. Now that he IS trying to send a better message and tell others to learn from his mistakes we are calling him fony and fake. Go ahead T.I. - ignore the haters.
Did it ever occur to anyone that this guy realizes he was a fool and an idiot for his mistakes and is trying to make as much right as possible? He has kids - I’m sure he doesn’t want his legacy to his children being a felon that doesn’t give a shit. At least he’s trying - what have YOU done lately for your community?
Why is it whenever rappers serve as mirrors of their communities everyone want to say that they are making a living off “glorifying” and not “portraying” those worlds?
Why do artists, poets, actors, directors, screenwriters, novelists, etc get a pass? it’s just not fair. i feel the majority of the time, rappers would rather people NOT do it, but they can’t deny that it exist.
T.I. in “Praying for Help” asked people to stand up as role models,
“But when I look at all the fans I touched
I ask how can a man that’s done so much
Be treated so unjust
Cause I’m tryin to inspire da folks
Wanna condemn cause they sell dope
Well man show em the ropes
Be a father a football coach a role model or a symbol of hope
Take another approach
Instead of testifying against em in court
Handcuffin em and closin the door so they can be worse than before
Can’t you see they only do what they know
Then you wonder why they don’t care no more
Life ain’t fair I know
But why I’m hated everywhere I go
Next time you wanna compare my flow just know
I’m prayin for help…”
He might have done some dumb things, but you can’t knock him for trying to right his wrongs.
co-sign #8.. what are you doing for your community?
I SWEAR PEOPLE KILL ME, IF A NEGRO NOT TALKING ABOUT DRUG SELLING & GANG BANGIN THEY DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT!
T.I. ADMITED HE MADE SOME REALLY STUPID DECISIONS, BUT AS A MAN HE STRONG ENOUGH TO COME TO THE FOR FRUNT AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS. WHILE AT THE SAME TIME INFROMING THE YOUNGER GENERATIONS NOT TO MAKE THE SAME STUPID DECISIONS HE MADE IN HIS PAST!
THAT’S WHAT A REAL MAN DOES! THE REST OF YOU SHOULD TAKE A FEW NOTES!
Jay-Z, TI, and jeezy all trying to be responsible role models is whats up. Then Nelly comes out and says I can’t be your role model, thats bull shit.
WE’LL SEE HOW MANY ALBUMS THAT NIGGA SELLS.
Cuz clearly people aren’t buying albums because they can’t get the music. Only reason lil wayne sold 1 mill is cuz people wanted to show love, if the carter 3 hit stores 5 years ago wayne would have sold 5X platinum the first week easily.
Number 7, practise wot u preach bitch.
“learn how to speak proper” . . . its PROPERLY u faggot
