all respect to krs-one despite my big dislike of soulja boy, it is good that krs took the time to connect and drop knowledge to him rather than dissing him or talking about his lack of rapping skills like im sure me and many others here have done. so he is at least trying to be the teacher rather than just saying he's not hip hop but not stating what it is. my only hope that soulja boy takes this in and maybe chance his content a bit but im just not sure about that. only time will tell and maybe i may change my thoughts on him as the years pass by and he learns more.

KRS is an intellectual man who is respected as one of the more intellegent worsmiths.

Hip-Hop's pillars ( Graffiti, B-Boyin, Emceein, Beat Boxing, Deejayin ) doesnt seem to heard nor seen in todays hip-hop industry. That is a problem for me and many around the world who is a hip-hop head like myself. Soulja Boy just seems like he is a little to ignorant and in my opinion, needs a wake up call from one of the greats. I have also heard people say " oh, soulja boy is young, and he doesnt know better!" but come on, most hip-hop artists start out young and from what Ive heard, has decent lyrics. Nas for example has been rappin since he was a teenager. Look where he is now, still not heard on the radio. You never hear any of the underground hip-hop artists on the radio, nor getting big record deals.

I know hip-hop is going to live, I just hope these new kats dont lead hip-hop to something not worth listening to.

Soulja Boy is a joke. If he's considered a face for new school hip hop, I feel sorry for the state that hip hop is in. His biggest song is based on a dumb ass dance. Soulja Boy is not hip hop!!

Soulja Boy grew up on commercial hip-hop, so that's all he knows. Someone should give him some classic albums and tell him to learn the history. KRS-One is the teacher, so he should teach him. Soulja Boy didn't kill hip-hop, but expecting him to carry on the legacy of hip-hop is foolish. Just let him do his dance songs and get money, as long as he stays in his lane it's whatever. The OG's of the game should holla at Lupe to carry the torch.
