  3. ElonSkee Says:

i was just thinking what would that track be like.. very interesting

  4. OFFICER RICK LEONARD ROSS Says:

WOW,SOULJA BOY IS DEFINITELY MORE LYRICAL THAN THE GAME

  5. larryberdz Says:

i think its true what krs said about it being a cycle, how in the 80s they thought the 70s were better, the 90s thought the 80s were better etc. if cats dont stop hatin on the new school as a whole then hip hop WILL die. its good 2 c both of them being able to talk face 2 face instead of dissin behind a computer screen. big ups to krs and to soulja boy 4 tht.

  6. Chiz the Great Says:

If the so called old heads don’t teach, the youth will never truly learn! Big up’s to rap city. But notice since it ain’t about beef or bullshit, no one really cares.

  7. izreal Says:

that was very necessary. it is easy to criticize but very hard to teach.

    each one teach one.

  8. frank Says:

    soulja boys time is over

  9. BlackDisciple Says:

to chiz EXACTLY i agree 100 percent brah

  10. J.P. Says:

im 19 and I don’t think 50cent is old school
what the fuck SOULJA BOY IS NOT HIP-HOP FOR ANSWERING THAT HE LISTENS TO 50 CENT WTF NIGGA U NEED TO LISTEN TO SOME OTHER SHIT FUCK NIGGA

  11. Backlash Says:

Good Shit Rap City, I’m Glad Somebody Finally Did it.

  12. Easy-E Says:

“[Partying] and not caring about the consequences…”

    That’s the problem

It’s messed up “they” annoted Souljah Boi as the rep for the younger generation of Hip-Hop. I got to admit the kid has gotten a half a hour on his 15 minutes of fame, but it because he’s been labeled the staple for bad Hip-Hop.

But 50 Cent? Old School? ‘In The Club’ dropped in like 03
KRS made a good point about cats in 97′ thought 87′ was the bomb…I agree…I can’t wait til this generation is over. But Souljah Boi didn’t kill Hip-Hop, the fans did. The direction of Hip-Hop always is commanded by the fans and that’s all we can blame. Damn, buy albums, stop complaining. A million people bought that Souljah Boi, what about Little Brother (for example). Them dudes are mad entertaining, but are gettin no love.

The fans need to hold themselves accountable

But LOL @ them pretending that they had an intelligent conversation. Yes the old need to teach the young…we need somebody other than Souljah Boi to represent us. Props to KRS-One

  13. Ed Says:

“[Partying] and not caring about the consequences…”

True, that is a problem but I dont want to get into that situation right now because I got a thousand feelings about that.
    But I will say this:
Sorry I just cant support that kid Soulja Boy, but this clip is GREAT, reminds me of YO MTV RAPS in the early days and I hope that Soulja Boy will learn a thing or two from KRS ONE and then Soulja Boy might a blessing to Hip Hop in the near future. ( Now would´nt that be great ! )

    Peace.

  14. F-S Says:

This was needed in hip hop, we need more of these.

  15. Ahijah Says:

They should do a track together ? No they shouldn’t

  16. shine95 Says:

skills vs. animosity. it’s tough to distinguish that when your battle rapping each other. I figure it’s who got the most skill vs. who got the greatest diss. which one is more valued?, or which one should be more valued if like KRS said to let the legacy live on with the young competitive artists. 1st thing that came to mind…….

  17. killa from va Says:

nigel u bitch why is that “lol” that would be dope

  18. dizzy Says:

nice vid.always like to hear him talkin. but soulja bboi got a lot respect for krs, he actin like i would act if i would stand bisede krs.

  19. rashard Says:

soulja boy music is for the “R kelly age group” listeners if you ask me. Krs 1 is a LEGEND, soulja boy needs to do his homework. Q45 is a prick fire him !

  20. high def Says:

thats wassup too bad soldja boy wont say nothing at all…to be fair he did say he doesnt make want to do that kind of music…but…i dunno this 80s baby aint feeling sb being the leader of the new school…why is lupe not the l.o.n.s.?…we should have a hip hop election every 2 years and decide wtf is what and who is who

  21. Smooth Da Hustler Says:

Tigger would of went in after soulja boy passed it to him.

  22. Isiah Bradley Says:

    That was great…it was needed/overdue.

  23. Undercovermc Says:

Soulja Boy grew up on commercial hip-hop, so that’s all he knows. Someone should give him some classic albums and tell him to learn the history. KRS-One is the teacher, so he should teach him. Soulja Boy didn’t kill hip-hop, but expecting him to carry on the legacy of hip-hop is foolish. Just let him do his dance songs and get money, as long as he stays in his lane it’s whatever. The OG’s of the game should holla at Lupe to carry the torch.

  24. wicked07 Says:

you can’t blame dude that old school hip hop to him is 50 cent back he said he was 11 then but i think what he needs to do is study the history of hip hop or have someone guide him

  25. Andrew Says:

Soulja Boy is a joke. If he’s considered a face for new school hip hop, I feel sorry for the state that hip hop is in. His biggest song is based on a dumb ass dance. Soulja Boy is not hip hop!!

  26. Nadia Says:

Soulja Boy is sooo CUTE!!!! mmmm

  28. Underground Poet Says:

KRS is an intellectual man who is respected as one of the more intellegent worsmiths.

Hip-Hop’s pillars ( Graffiti, B-Boyin, Emceein, Beat Boxing, Deejayin ) doesnt seem to heard nor seen in todays hip-hop industry. That is a problem for me and many around the world who is a hip-hop head like myself. Soulja Boy just seems like he is a little to ignorant and in my opinion, needs a wake up call from one of the greats. I have also heard people say ” oh, soulja boy is young, and he doesnt know better!” but come on, most hip-hop artists start out young and from what Ive heard, has decent lyrics. Nas for example has been rappin since he was a teenager. Look where he is now, still not heard on the radio. You never hear any of the underground hip-hop artists on the radio, nor getting big record deals.

I know hip-hop is going to live, I just hope these new kats dont lead hip-hop to something not worth listening to.

  29. brotherdarkness89 Says:

all respect to krs-one despite my big dislike of soulja boy, it is good that krs took the time to connect and drop knowledge to him rather than dissing him or talking about his lack of rapping skills like im sure me and many others here have done. so he is at least trying to be the teacher rather than just saying he’s not hip hop but not stating what it is. my only hope that soulja boy takes this in and maybe chance his content a bit but im just not sure about that. only time will tell and maybe i may change my thoughts on him as the years pass by and he learns more.

  30. graffhead91 Says:

soulja boy was completely clueless of real hip hop…. I still hate the kid… and lil wayne, and all those other fake rappers… 50 cent oldschool??? lol I’m 19 and I don’t think 50 cent is oldschool lol… rakim is oldschool to me…
