T.I. Speaks On, “Swagger Like Us”
The MC — who will perform a song from Paper Trail at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 7 — obviously isn’t upset with how well “Swagger Like Us” (or “S.L.U.”) turned out or even the immediate positive reaction it’s gotten. He just had planned on presenting his song properly rather than having it just thrown out there. He said it could have been “that much bigger” if he’d had the chance to roll it out in grand fashion.
“Don’t ruin the event,” he lamented. “Wait till the cake comes out the kitchen before you eat it. That’s like a kid who sees his toys before Christmas; it takes away from me and I think it takes away from the fans as well. When it’s time, I’mma give it to you. They leaked my record with me and The-Dream ["Like I Do"] too. Leakage is never a problem I have had. I’m not used to it.”

T.I. seems tight about the leak but nothing you can do about it now. Once a song hits one blog its will be all over the internet in a matter of minutes.

I love the track!!! No need to be pissy tip, like the man said…once it hits the net, it’s ov! The track is being put on the mp3 immediately! can’t wait for the Paper Trail. I know its better than his last effort!
smh.. @ him… speaking against leaks. That’s not a smart move. From a fans perspective they wanna hear the music any way they can get it.. The artist has to put 2 and 1 together, and realize that as long as they are creating the material it’s gonna hit the net and be bootlegged. Whether or not that material is high caliber determines if the consumer will goto the stores and buy their album.

Watch Jeezy’s numbers come in. Tha tracks that have been leaking through the pipeline their will definitely work in his favor. Not saying Jeezy will sell amilli but he will atleast do rick Ross type numbers in the 500,000 more category.
BOTTOM LINE: Put together classic material and your album will sell. Who cares if you were trying to arrange an event. Let the music be heard and you will reap the benefits.

Papertrail looking like a real big album. Im not feelin the track with Dream but everything else including “life of the party” (which should make the final cut for the album) is hot. Beef and controversy definitely brings out the best in TIP.

i feel sorry for tip on that one but he should’ve expected it, u cant hide a song with 4 of the top 5 rappers on it.
