Hello all! I would just like to say that I was the first model with short hair in the competition and I respect all of your opinions because we all see things differently. Not every girl put in king or smooth is a ho and whether or not the person next to you is assuming that, it does not mean you have to.
I understand this was suppose to be about modeling and I did turn around and show my behind but it was not because a guy told me to, it was because in modeling whether you like it or not especially if you do victoria secret and such, you are gonna get naked and show a little skin. I am comfortable with my body and was aware of this.
I agree the lap dancing and such is bad because that is not modeling and it became entertainment but the difference with me is If I was told to do it, I would not have. The other girl did not think for herself and so I know she will not get but so far because this is a dirty industry and people will try to take advantage. I made the choice myself because it is something that is looked at and taken into consideration in any modeling. You can lose jobs just off of how big or not your ass is.
I know who I am and I know what I want. Modeling (and not your low grade modeling…Im going big) is something I plan to use as well as my education to get where I want to because when it comes down to it, no matter how hard you work or go to college(which I do), the jobs that shouldn’t matter are the ones that get paid (sad but true) and I plan to use the money I make to invest and start my own bussiness as well as help those who need it. I am constantly giving back any way I can and with more money, I can do so much more.
Thank you to those who are concerned and thank you to those who were there that know and can tell I am not going to just let some man disrespect me in real life. You would not be saying certain things if I were a doctor becuase you would base your judgement based on what you know…doctors are good, respected, etc. Well I can tell you I have known some nasty disrespectful, touching in the wrong way doctors that I have and others should report. Just consider some of the things I said and think for yourself before you judge. There are problems everywhere and there are consequences to everything.
I accept that most of you think I am a jump, but my goal is bigger than judgements and the people who matter to me are the only opinions I do care about including the guy I am going to marry who is soon to be a Pharmacist:) None of the great people in history including Einstein had support and were even considered crazy but if it were not for them believing in what they could do, you would not know what you know and I beleieve that I can utilize the industry to my advantage to do what I believe my real purpose is. Love you all still…too much hate in the world already:)

As a chick, I am slightly offended. I agree with most the guys in here that the line between “model”, and skank is being sooooo crossed now. Models are tyra, jessica, naomi, iman, etc… I even give ester baxter more credit than these girls. You dont have to do this ish to get in King do you? This is really a mess, and I can’t front I like king mag, and I bought a subscription for my man for the past few yrs, but this is nonsense. Funk Flex is doin’ it for the paycheck, and i am sure that he would be heated if his wife or daughter was up there. This has got to stop man! I love rap music, and urban culture, but this is how the world views us black women as ass shakin, big booty havin sex objects, damn! I get looks from men in this office all of the time, and even a professor came at me sidewayz in undergrad on the same notion that we all “shake it” to get ahead. I’m sick of it, and bruhs, u MUST do better. Besides, none of ya’ll would wife ANY of these chicks. Just skeete and delete. Wow.

Like I said, there’s nothing wrong with wearin bathing suits and shorts or whatever, but the disrespect that comes with it is degrading. I agree with the Wet T-Shirt contest, but it’s not done even half as much as ‘Ass Shakin Contest’ or nearly as mainstream. You see that in videos most of the day and it’s put out there for everyone to see. Wet T-Shirt contest are like urban legends, in regard to how they aren’t put out like that. As for Hooters I’m sure men ain’t askin’ the waitresses to shake they asses or tippin’ the waitresses for lap dances, it’s just women in short, tight clothing, nothing more, nothing less and it’s doesn’t compare to this Flex show

I’m not sure about this being that bad! I think everything does have its place… IMO this is cool, these females are doing what they want and not being mislead… its when things get misleading or you HAVE to do a favor for a favor when I start gettin upset. There’s hoes of every race… whites have playboy and a host of others we have blact tail and king/smooth? Its once every male trys to treat every female this way that I begin to question dudes…

Realistically this is 2008… More girls prolly enjoyed that show then dudes… and the whole crowd was probably game for the show!!!

I love beautiful woman as much as the next guy, but this kinda crosses the line of “Model” search

IMO there’s nothing wrong with being on stage in bathing suit, but there are lines that were crossed.

(On the second vid) Dude told the young lady to pull her bottom up her ass to make it a thong, then told her to show the crowd her ass, then the judge. DEGRADING.

(At the end of the 1st vid) When they had the chick basically giving lap dances on stages. DEGRADING.

And we, as Black folks, wonder why we can’t make it sometimes. I don’t like KING, because I can only read so many articles interviewing women and talkin’ to them as if they are interviewing for a prostitute position. I have the same view on Smooth. Those two aren’t “modeling” mag, they’re sex mag. I’m a black man and I just don’t like seeing my sisters disrespected and white men have done enough of it and we don’t need to continue to do it.

Like I read in another post about Flex’s show, this does nothing about the notion that Hip-Hop openly degrades women. Don’t give me the “Nobody forces them to do it”, because if a man was beatin’ up on a 7 year old and everyone was just watching, they’d be just as guilty.
