Concreteloop released a track sent to them by Solange that speaks on the hate on her diversity in the industry. Solange states:

“Unfortunately I’m in an industry where diversity is not celebrated the way it should be. When some people see and hear something different it feels foreign to them and they don’t like that. Everyone has a choice of what they like and that’s a beautiful thing! But record labels, managers, publicist, journalist, media etc… have a tendency to see something work and try to reciprocate that with another artist thinking that’s what makes success. To me what makes success is letting people be truly who they are.

I know execs have cookie cutter methods of trying to sell records and make artist conform to what other people are doing. So there will always be that battle between staying true to yourself and listening to the label, but some artist refuse to, “dumb it down.”

Solo is staying true to herself because her family is already made. I think she changed it up from her sister to try and find her own nitch in the industry. Most cookie cutters listen to the label because they want to make the big time money. Solo does not have that problem and never will. She can talk mess because her name allows room for that type of stuff. her label will not debate her and let her be because her sister paved the way.

I like both Bey and Solo as artist. Both are very talented and I believe Solo could copy cat her big sis but chooses not to. She could also be very good at it because she has been on the road with her since the Destiny child days.

Solo personality is far removed from Beyonce because beyonce had no choice but to change up to crack into the industry. She gave her sister this freedom and that should be commended. If solo was first her speach would be different.

I recommend #4 for wut he/she said! DAts right on da money. What she said was straightforward and true! Nobody really wants 2 hear no oldies-classic type music. But dats wut Solo likes, dats exactly wut she is goin’ 2 put out on da table bcuz she has it like dat! She is fine and all…but do I like her music?? Da truth is…I think its creative bcuz I sort of compared it 2 Amy Winehouse and Duffy music since I like these two talented singers oldies-classic music. HOwever, Solo has 2 give me more for me to fully like her music. Don’t get me wrong…I like Solonge but I am kind of wishy-washy when it comes 2 her music. But yeah…dis all folks@!!

she can say and do what ever she wants because nobody expects her to be as famous as her sister. beyonce has made that entire family rich, so baby sis can do as she pleases because she is not held to a standard that beyonce is held to. if solange doesnt sound good nobody is really going to care or lose alot of money but if beyonce doesnt bring in money then its a problem.

she doesnt have to feed her family, they got cake.

And for the people who claiming her family this and that keep in mind she is her own person. Even if her father wouldn’t approve of her saying fuck the industry she would have said it. Remember she went out & made a child & raised him well. Now if it was all about what someone though of her she would have waited. That alone let’s you all know she really stand up for what she believe in.
