I just became a fan of soulja boy, the young man. I am still not a fan of his music (although that track that was playing in the background of this video wasn’t bad), but his hustle game is tight and even as a kid himself he still manages to understand the power of his influence enough to the point where he does good work for his community as well.
So he used his talent of being able to excite the masses, in order to make himself and his comunity better. Where I’m from…thats HIP-HOP.
Gotta give the props to the young man and stuff using the excuse of not liking his music to saying that it’s not hip-hop.
yeah man.. but he has one last goal… his next album has to get better reviews even if its just half a star from every reviewer that reviewed his first album
stop lookin at him as a rapper…he is a hip pop dance music..congrats soulja boy i aint finna buy yo album or nothin but congrats lil nigga keep doin yo thing and takin those white ppl money…u got my vote
I R-E-S-P-E-C-T HIM FOR PUTTING IN ALL THE HARD WORK THAT GOES INTO THE CREATION,PROMOTION,AND EVERY THING ELSE INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING AN ALBUM OUT.
NOW,ONTO THE REALITY;HIS FAME ORIGINATES FROM A D-A-N-C-E,SOMETHING WHICH MILLIONS OF PEOPLE HAVE SEEN,HAVE DONE,AND HAVE TALKED ABOUT.DENY THIS ALL YOU WANT,BUT IF HE DOES NOT COME OUT WITH A NEW DANCE(FOR HIS FIRST SINGLE OFF HIS NEXT ALBUM) THAT’S AS CATCHY AS THE FIRST ONE,HIS SECOND ALBUM WILL HAVE A VERY,V-E-R-Y HARD TIME TOPPING THE FIRST ONE.
PEOPLE AREN’T H-A-T-E-R-S FOR DISLIKING ONE PARTICULAR KIND OF MUSIC,THEY SIMPLY HAVE DIFFERENT TASTES AND OUTLOOKS ON A SPECIFIC GENRE OF MUSIC.SO IF SOMEONE SAYS “I DON’T LIKE SOULJA BOYS MUSIC,THAT’S BUBBLEGUM MUSIC”,THE PERSON ISN’T A HATER,THE PERSON SIMPLY DOES NOT LIKE MUSIC THAT HE/SHE BELIEVES TO BE ‘BUBBLEGUM’ MUSIC…PEOPLE NEED TO STOP GENERALIZING EVERYTHING THAT ISN’T OVERWHELMING POSITIVE AS BEING ‘HATE’
i really don’t like soulja boy music BUT i always liked soulja boy hustle.. i teach and i wish half my kids had his drive to do something… other than hate on each other, fight, skip school, or get caught up with the streets
props to SB for staying positive. he’s a role model to the kids.. i ALWAYS give props to that.. hope that album in November showcase a lil versatility though… for his sake (i mean a sophomore slump would light up the blogs)

I salute dude, st8 up. Phuck all the otha shit, youngin’ went out new age grass roots (internet)style and got his!! The AVERAGE nigga don’t even realize the initiative it takes to do what he did and da work he has/does put in. I won’t eva buy a SB record, but I commend him on his accomplishments b/c he is prolly THE MOST REDICULED rap artist out and he handles it as well as late teen could.
O, we all know he got one MEGA HIT, but “Soulja Girl” was a modest hit and got HELLA spins and as well as “Donk” so stop w/ the “he only got one hit” rhetoric.
Jus like Eminem said, “I’m not gonna be able 2 top My Name Is”. He most likely won’t be able 2 have a bigger song than “Crank Dat”, but he doesn’t have 2 as long as he puts out music that his fan base likes.

August 2nd, 2008 at 6:48 pm
He sells because has a strong fan base, people who actually supports an artist that they like. Unless most of the the rappers fan base today.
