I guess you could consider Belly a classic, but 90% of “hood” movies in general are full of shit. I only fucks wit Juice, Paid In Full and Boyz in the hood.

The 1st Belly: trash. Hot concept, good actors, but a bullshit script. That shit was like a 90 min Hype video. No plot til the last 15 min. Belly 2 has a plot. And waaay better actors.

Hype Williams really wanted to make an artistic, cinematic classic when he made the first Belly; and it was evident in the shots, camera angles, and cinematography. PLUS all the hood shit was well done too lol. Hype’s Belly= hood classic

Yeah Belly is a hood classic but niguz please stop reaching? Why everything gotta be labeled or categorized now? That shit is annoying and tedious! I ain’t even gotta see the preview to know that shit is no Belly. Belly was a classic because it was a vehicle with 4 huge name stars, is was driven by the vision of Hype which is what set apart from other hood movies I.E. “Maverick pictures” movies and the like and the time in which it dropped was perfect! To do that again there would have to be similar elements involved….
Timing is all fucked up, (year of the sequel, record sales at all time low, etc.) Hype ain’t behind is and what stars they got behond it? Game and who?
