Flint Michigan Makes Sagging Pants A Crime
Dicks said saggy pants are a crime — a violation of the city’s disorderly conduct ordinance — and exposing the buttocks is indecent exposure. Both crimes are misdemeanors punishable by 93 days to a year in jail and fines of up to $500.
Meanwhile, other cities are covering their behinds as well. Village trustees in the Chicago suburb of Lynwood, Ill., passed an ordinance last week that says people caught exposing 3 inches or more of their underwear will be fined $25.
I support this, I am tired of having to see cats wearing jeans near their knees and think that’s a good look. Now getting jail time for it is OD, just fine the people, with the rate going up if they are a multiple offender. What are your thoughts?

i see teens sagging, and as they grew up, their pants went up.
so if you’re over 18/21 then yeah get fined.
but if you’re underage you should get a warning first.
its cuz kids buy xxl shirts, therefore they SAG their pants so it looks symmetrical.
x-large shirts dont look right with pants to the waist, so kids need to learn to buy shirts that fit then the pants will start to fit.

What an asinine law. Wearing your pants like that is dumb, but it’s even dumber to make it a crime. While a police officer is dealing with a youth with his pants sagging, there’s a paedophile or a rapist doing a real crime. People will get fined ’cause the authorities want money, but no one is going to jail for this bullshit – that would be inane.

I wouldn’t mind if it was illegal. of course, it shouldn’t be punished by any jail time or anything, but I think folks, let me just be blunt, Black folks need to represent themselves in a better manner than sagging.
The only problem with this “law” is that its subjective. It gives the laws a reason to harrass young black men for no good reason. All they have to do is stop someone for “sagging” search them and arrest them for who knows what.
I think the intention of the law is good, but the execution is definitely not.

I think it’s racist!!! It targets a particular age and culture. Majority of people who wear their clothing like that are young teens who listen to hip hop. It’s not right to isolate and punish that population because of their freedom of expression. I personally can’t stand that look and I hope our young teens will realize they can still look cool with the pants covering their ass. But if they decide to do so, they should’nt be sent to jail. It does’nt mean their bad people. Some really good, smart, and honest kids like to dress this way and a trip behind bars because of the way they wore their clothes can really alter their future. Fines are reasonable but this is just another way to put our young kids behind bars.

I don’t think its a bad idea i think its a good idea and i also don’t think that its aimed only at black folks. I think sagging your pants all the way to your butt shows how ignorant intelligent and uneducated a person really is. I think once you get to a curtain age you should know better then to sag your pants to your butt. I think its aimed at every race being that Black White Asian Hispanics and Africans folk all do it. I live in Flint and I have yet seen or heard about anybody getting fined and arrested for this yet. But, the reason why they are doing this is because they just busted one of Flint’s gang PHP. And they are looking for a reason to somewhat clean-up the streets. I personally dont think its a bad idea. The only people that sagg their pants around here are the trouble makers. So if they want to show their asses take them to jail where someone will bend them over and tear them a new ass hole.
